IT'S NOT JUST A GAME
One opinion the author made was saying that sports are a form of entertainment. The joy that you and your teammates get from working together is the same joy that your family, friends, and other spectators get while they they watch. Fans experience the thrill of victory. They also experience the agony of defeat, just like the players on the field. Think about the applauding, shouting, and yelling during sports events. It's a way for many of us to live vicariously through the players actions
Bethany Hamilton is a brave person. She has been an inspiration to millions through her story of faith, hope, and determination. When Bethany was thirteen, she was attacked by a fourteen-foot tiger shark. The attack left Bethany with a severed left arm. Michael Oher is a very famous NFL football player. He had to have been a very inspirational athlete. Also Michael came from a broken home with a dad that was murdered when he was a senior in high school. He had a mother who was addicted to crack cocaine. Sadly, he was frequently homeless and out on the streets.
Jesse is an Olympic runner. Jesse Owens was a sickly child. He was often too frail to help his father and brothers in the fields. He also experienced racism. He broke 3 world records and tied another. The African Americans (including Jesse)faced both the challenges of competition and Adolph Hitler's boasts.
Tom is a pro NFL kicker. He was born without toes. Tom played on many different football teams, he was on the Saints. Tom is suffering from dementia. He liked to hit people." He didn't care if he got his bell rung." His fully formed left foot causes him to hobble a bit.
They both had disorders. Both of them still overcame it and had a great athletic career. There were many boundaries they both faced. Tom had a lot of difficulties in his life like Jesse Owens.
