Made up of six national parks:
Significance to us
Houses a large variety of plant- and wild-life.
Became 'in danger' on July 30, 2010.
Areas in Marojejy and Masoala being logged due to rarity of trees

Atsinanana - home to 25 species of lemur.
Home to 162 exclusive families of animal and 166 endemic families of plant.
Madagascan farmers and villages rely on the rainforests' natural resources to survive.
Enlisted on the World Heritage List in June 27, 2007
Most species are rare and not found anywhere else.
Animals and plants evolved in isolation - rare features.
Eg. Radiated tortoise, Aye-aye, Fossa

In danger - sites that require more attention and encouragement due to threatening circumstances
Notably rosewood and ebony trees.
