Avogadro got a degree
in ecclesiastal law.
However, in 1800,
Avogadro began private studies in
physics and mathematics.
taught
natural
sciences
at a
high school
wrote a memoria (concise note)
that declared the hypothesis now known as
AVOGADRO'S LAW
we'll talk about that later.
He had 6 children.
Religious man

became first chair of
mathematical physics
removed from professor
because of
his politcal actions
soon reinstated:
intoduced decimal system
served as member of the Royal Superior Council on Public Instruction

Avogadro's law states that equal amounts of gases,
at the same temperature and pressure,
contain the same number of molecules,
regardless of their chemical nature and
physical properties.
Until Avogadro's death,
his theory was generally accepted.

value for all gases, independent
of the size or mass of the gas molecules.
Amedeo sent his memoria to:
De Lametherie's Journal de Physique,
de Chemie et d'Histoire naturalle
and it was published in the
July 14th edition of this journal
under the title:
Essai d'une maniere de determinir
les masses relatives
des molecules elementaires des corps,
et les proportions selon lesquelles elles entrent
dans ces combinaisons
Then published a memoria about
gas densities:
Memoire sur les selon masses relatives
des molecules des corps simples,
ou densites presumees de leur gaz,
et sur la constitution de quelques-uns
de leur composes, pour servir de suite
a I'Essai sur le meme sujet,
publie dans le Journal de Physique,
juillet 1811
In 1821, he published:
Nouvelles considerations sur la theorie
des proportions determinees dans les combinaisons,
et sur la determination des masses des molecules
des corps
and also,
Memoire sur la maniere de ramener
les composes organiques aux lois ordinaires
des proportions determinees.
In 1841, he completed and published
his 4-volume work:
Fisica dei corpi ponderabilli,
ossia Trattato della costituzione
materiale de' corpi
