-significant lost production at their Ulsan production lines because of disagreement between the labor and management



-After 8 years of denial, Hyundai finally admitted to using illegal use of dispatch workers



-Hyundai is now promising to re-sort employees at locations where illegal dispatches were found to have taken place and in-house subcontractor employees are employed and to regularize workers.

1947 - Hyundai Togun (Hyundai Engineering and Construction), is the initial company of the Hyundai Group, was established by Choi Ju Yung.

1967 - Hyundai Motors was established. In 1975, the group begins construction on an intergrated car factory and launches a new Korean vehicle.

1976 - Hyundai Corporation is established as a trading arm. The same year, Asia Merchant Marine Co. established, later renamed Hyundai Merchant Marine.
Continuous Problem

More requests from workers

Raised salary, extra grant, their children's college tuition, 10 million won even if they do not intend to go to college, better working environment, less working time...

-but keep going on strike while getting paid almost 200 million won annually (highest 5% in Korea as engineers)
-loss 2 trillion won of company profit
-more than 10 million man hour of lost production

Why not thinking of the company's profit first?
