Salmonella Enteritidis
Salmonella is actually a group of bacteria that can cause diarrheal illness in humans.
What is the incubation period for the illness?
You can have Salmonella Enteritidis in your body for at least 12-72 hours before it becomes serious and your almost at death. There was an out break and many people where effected by the (SE). The effects of ingested Salmonella enteritidis (SE) dose on incubation period and on the severity and duration of illness were estimated. 169 people were effected . These people who developed gastroenteritis after eating hollandaise sauce made from grade-A shell eggs.

What does it need to thrive?
Salmonella Enteritidis is a serious type of bacteria. It's responsible for the spread of typhoid. This beacteria requires a wet, warm environment to survive . Meaning leaving food out over night in warm water to unthough is an bad idea. Many people use to make that mistake.
Salmonella enteritidis is a parasitic organism. It benefits from living inside the host, but it harms the host in the process. Raw eggs is an very common host for Salmonella. But this bacteria also can live in raw or undercooked meat or eggs. So for people who like thier meat or eggs undercooked, there's something you should think about.

What are the symptoms associated with the illness?

The implicated illness(es) of Salmonella Enteritidis commonly appear 12-72 hours after consumption of infect food. Symptoms of Salmonella usually last between four to seven days. If symptoms persist longer, it is best to see a doctor. Having Salmonella poisoning can led to death. Salmonella Enteritidis can happen to anyone so we should take a better look on how we cook our food.
What is the duration of the symptoms?
Depending on how much you take in, the duration of the symptoms are up to 1-3 days. Salmonella are important foodborne pathogens that cause gastroenteritis, bacteremia, and subsequent focal infection. If you have the symptons over 3 days you need a doctor. You may have to go to the doctor for a cure to save for life.
What are the steps for prevention?
I think the steps to prevention are cooking food well. You shouldn't have it half done. You should always wash your hands after handling raw food. You can get Salmonella Poisoning from it. You should never leave food out for long periods of time.
