In the 1950s Norman Franz experimented with an early form of a water jet cutter. In the 1970s Mohamed Hashish advanced the water jet cutter by adding abrasives. Advantages
No heat is generated
No dust or particles
Very little material is wasted
Produces very efficiently
Easily automated for production
Doesnt leave rough edge
Much lighter than laser cutters
Limited mumber of materials can be cut
Cant cut thick parts
Taper(dimensional inaccuracy) Multi axis cutting:
