God is not forgetful

God sees service
vs. 9-10
Hebrews 6:9-19
vs. 11-12
Romans 8:14-16

“14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. 15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:”
Assurance of salvation is an ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the lives of obedient believers.
1. Saved people will continue in these things
2. Saved people will fully experience their hope at the end
3. Saved people should be vigorous in following the example of the saints who have gone before
Objective
Subjective
The gospel is a series of clear truths that must be believed intellectually but also depended upon personally
There will be fruits of salvation that will become evident in their life as they grow in Christ-likeness (repentance from sinful behavior, reconciliation with others, obedience in Baptism, identifying publicly with Christ, conviction over sin, etc.)
There will be an understanding of the Word and its application to their life
There will be a love for God and others
The Holy Spirit will confirm to them that they are saved
They will persist in obedience and progressive sanctification
They will become more conformed to the image of Christ
Seen in the Old Testament
God made a trustworthy promise
Abraham endured in trusting
God's immutability is our refuge
