The Immediate Issue
Nature Inspired Designs
What is a DfE score?
Continue Use Of PVC In All Lines
Delay And Wait For Similar Action From Competitors
Switch To Thermo Plastic Urethane In The Mirra Chair
Switch To TPU In Mirra And Entire Product Line
What is the cost implication of switching to TPU in Mirra?

Scenario Analysis
The class takeaway?
The DfE score of a component is the sum of its materials chemistry, disassembly, and recyclability DfE weights divided by the maximum DfE weight possible.
Design Principle
Group exercise: Find the cost, price and product information from the case. Estimate the cost increase due to replacing PVC with TPU.
Scenario analysis is a process of analyzing possible future events by considering alternative possible outcomes (sometimes called "alternative worlds").
Any other implications?
Group Exercise:

1. Identify one successful C2C story from popular media.

2. Explain how Cradle-to-Cradle is implemented in this story.

3. How were the themes of eco-effectiveness and waste=Food implemented in the relevant product?

Extended producer responsibility, Servicizing, Recycling infrastructure,
