Transcript of Cell Analogy Project

By Emily Andrews Cell Analogy Project Golgi Apparatus A grocery store has a cell membrane, its acts like the doors, that let in and out the costomers, so the Cell membrane regulates what enters and leaves the cytoplasm. Cell Membrane A grocery store has a Endoplasmic Rediculum, It acts as the check out line. Just as the checkout line is the place where the workers in the store, so the ER is the place where the ribosomes do their job of assembling proteins. A grocery store has a Golgi Apparatus, Its like the Store Packaging Department, Just as the Store Packaging Department prepares food products for shipment to the store, so the Golgi Apparatus prepares the proteins for use or export out of the cell. Cell Wall A grocery store is like the cell wall, because it needs the wall to hold everything together. Endoplasmic Reticulum Mitochondria The grocery store has a Mitochoandria, it acts like the Electircal Comany
Just as the electrical company provides energy for all the activites in the store, so the mitochondria are the source of the ATP that is used for energy in cell processes Ribosomes The ribosomes job in a grocery store would be that it has little workers, like the people that work at the grocery store. Cytoplasm In a store the Cytoplasm is like the grocery store floor, Just as the floor of store holds all of the food and labels for the store, so the cytoplasm is where all the organelles and activity are found in the cell. Chloroplast In a grocery store the chloroplast acts like the solar panel, Just as the solar panels converts the sun's energy for use, so the choloplast produces food for a plant through the process of photosynthesis. Nucleus In a grocery store the has a Nucleus as well, it acts as the Store Manger Just as the manger directs all operations inside the store, so the nucleus and DNA controls all the cell activites and what proteins will be made. That was My cell Analogy Project! By Emily Andrews.
