STUDENT DIGITAL PRIVACY ACT
New Commitments from the
Private Sector to Help Enhance
Privacy for Students: Today
75 companies have committed
to the cause,
signing a pledge to provide parents,
teachers, and kids themselves with
important protections against
misuse of their data

This pledge was led
by the Future of
Privacy Forum and
the Software &
Information Industry
Association, and today
the President challenged
other companies to
follow their lead.

This bill, modeled on a
landmark California
statute, builds on the
recommendations of the
White House Big Data
and Privacy review
released earlier this year.

Net Neautrality
The FCC approved
Wheeler’s proposal
on Feb. 26, 2015

Net Neutrality is
crucial for small
business owners,
startups and
entrepreneurs

In May 2014, FCC Chairman
Tom Wheeler released
a plan that would have
allowed companies like
AT&T, Comcast and
Verizon to discriminate
online and create
pay-to-play fast lanes.

The FCC is now in
the process of
reviewing over 3.7
million comments
and shaping new
net neutrality rules

Net neutrality is the
principle that individuals
should be free to access
all content and applications
equally, regardless of the
source, without Internet
service providers
discriminating against
specific online services
or webs
The principle that
Internet service
providers should
enable access to all
content and applications
regardless of the
source, and without
favoring or blocking
particular products
or websites.
