CHAPTER 1
INTO THE PRIMITIVE

Buck: Primitive, Strong
Judge Miller: Kind, Loving
Man with the red sweater: Cruel, harsh
Perrault and Francois: Fair, expecting
Tone
The tone in the beginning of the story was hopeful with the amazing scenery and beautiful home then got bitter and serious when Buck was taken by the man in the red sweater.
SUMMARY
Buck, living happily in Judge Miller's home, was kidnapped by the man in the red sweater then sold to two men who have a sled dog team. Their names are Francoise and Perrault, two expirienced with dogs. Buck learns the ways of a dog in the wild and how to cope with the cold harsh winter.

The tone is bitter and dark due to the many tragic events. Such as Curly being attacked, Minimal food, Spitz and Buck fighting for the place of the alpha dog.

SUMMARY
Buck meets Spitz, another alpha dog, and encounters conflict with him. He meets other new dogs such as Billee, Joe, Sol-leks, and Curly. Curly then gets attacked by many dogs. Buck learns the law of club and fang.
CHAPTER 3
THE DOMINANT PRIMORDIAL BEAST
Place: Alaska, dog sledding on a trail.

Mood: Formal, bitter, Serious, Dedicated, Adventurous, Melancholic
Dolly: Insane, Crazy, Evil

Spitz: Alpha, Cruel, Primitive

Buck: Primitive, Alpha
CHARACTERS
The tone is bitter and serious as well as formal due to fighting between Buck and Spitz. Also, Dolly attacking Buck after going absolutely insane.
TONE
Spitz starts to fight with Buck. Then the dogs are walking on thin ice on the trail and fall through. Buck takes leadership. Dolly, a dog on the sled team, goes nuts and attacks Buck resulting in François killing her. Buck and Spitz fight again. Then Buck starts chasing after a rabbit anf Buck and Spitz fight over the rabbit.
