Sammy L. Davis
Sacrifice
He sacrificed himself to protect his country by volunteering to join the army. Also, with his severe wounds and an inability to swim, he indeed swam all the way across a river to help and bring back three of his partners in the army by carrying an air matress with them on it a total of 4 times.
Ryan M. Pitts
Sacrifice
After radioing a Commanding Post, a two-man rescue team was sent to help Pitts but when they arrived, Pitts handed him his main weapon and ammunition and told them to leave. He sacrificed himself for their safety.

Honor

Although, there was over 200 Anti-Afghans attacking and already being severely wounded, Ryan kept on fighting beacause he was determined to push back the enemy (Anti-Afghans) and not let them infiltrate the base and take his unit hostage.

Sammy L. Davis
Honor
Sammy L. Davis enlisted in the army after highschool and asked to be sent to Vietnam. He wanted to protect our country and volunteer because of that and he volunteered becuase he loves our country.
Obviously he loves our country because he volunteered to fight for us but Ryan M. Pitts also kept fighting after being wounded because of his commitment to the defense of his unit.
Valor
Sammy continued to keep on firing and keep the enemies from invading their territory even knowing the enemy had a higher number of people coming at him. A bunch of shots were firing at him and his unit but instead of running, he decided to take charge.
He demonstrates by saving lives and putting other people before himself. When he recieved the Medal of Honor, he said, "This medal isn't just for me, it's the forty-two soldiers that fought with me." Honoring those that have fallen and those still here today.
Pitts exemplifies honor by saving his whole unit. When the Anti-Afghans attacked, almost his whole unit was asleep while he was on perimeter security. If he hadn't taken charge, his unit would be in captivity or much worse.
