Rio de Janeiro is one of Brazil's most famous and most largest cities. Rio de Janiero is also one of Brazil's most beautiful cities, it has urban areas nestled between a magnificent bay and dazzling beaches on one side, and an abruptly rising mountain range, covered by a luxuriant tropical forest, on the other. This unique landscape justifies Rio's fame as the "Marvelous City".

Rio de Janeiro is located in Brazil on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, in the southeastern part of the tropical zone of South America.

The beaches
You can get natural beaches and man made beaches. Rio De Janerio is famous for thier beaches,some of thier natural beaches are: Flamengo,Urca,Leme,Tijuca and Vermelha. Tijuca, Rio's longest beach it stretches a whopping 11 miles.Vermelha is Rio's smallest beach.

Atlantic Forest
The Atlantic forest is another of the physical features of Rio de Janiero. It is 1,233,875 square kilometers originally to 99,944 square kilometers today. It is the home for 264 mammals, 1,000 species of birds, over 750 species of reptiles and amphibians, 23,000 species of plants. An average of 34,720 hectares (347 square kilometers) a year, or 0.35 percent loss annually.

Rio de Janeiro enjoys a tropical climate that features high temperatures and plenty of sunny weather throughout the year. The Winter comes in June and lasts till August, this weather remains warm although the average temperature falls around 5 ºC from the summer months. Completely opposite weather from the rainy UK!

Population
The population of Rio de Janeiro is increasing drastically because people are comming to stay in this city expecting for better healthcare, jobs,education etc but sadly they cannot afford vital resources such as food and clothing and houses to rent so they start committing crimes such as burglary to get the resources they need.
Christ The Redeemer
Christ the Redeemer is a statue in Rio de Janeiro it was built as a symbol of a Brazilian christian. The statue weighs approximately 635 tons.Christ the Redeemer is the 5th largest statue of Jesus in the world. In 2008 a violent electrical storm resulted in a lightning strike to the statue. The head, eyebrows and fingers were damaged.In 2014 a lightning struck and damaged the thumb.

Poorer families had to find a place to live in one of the city’s favelas shantytowns that lack basic necessities like water, electricity, and paved roads. Today, up to a third of the city’s residents live in favelas, and there are more than 600 of them scattered across the city with populations varying from a few dozen to thousands of
people.

Carnival in Rio
The Carnivals in Rio are the largest in the world.In 2011, 4.9 million people took part in the carnival in Rio. More than 200 different samba schools from Rio participate. The main carnival parades takes place in the Sambadrome.The samba dance, originating from the Bahia region with African rhythms, came to Rio de Janeiro around 1920.

So what is life like in Rio de Janeiro
After gathering up our information life in Rio de Janeiro depends if your rich or poor Because if you were rich you had nothing really to worry about because you live your life in luxury. But if you were poor you'd end up living in crime.
The rich live close to the water in big luxurious houses, they have all the necessities they need. The great masses of poor people have been pushed high into the hills. The south zone of Rio de Janeiro is the wealthiest part of the whole city.

What is the difference of famous features?
Christ the Redeemer is a human features it is very religious compered to the beaches of Rio de Janerio. But the carnivals of Rio de Janerio are very traditional unlike other features such as the Atlantic Forest.
