Interface Alliance Important fact #1 They believe that religious freedom is a foundation for American Democracy Important Fact #2 they believe individual rights and matters of personal conscience must be held sacred. important fact #3 Religious and political extremists are a threat to individual liberty and democracy Important Fact #4 This group stands for Faith and Freedom This is the only organization dedicated to protecting the integrity of both religion and Democracy in America. Important fact#5 They believe that celebrating religious and cultural difference is the way to achieve a vibrant community. On Wednesday, the 21st of October, the president of Interfaith Alliance, Rev. Dr. C. Welton Gaddy, gave out an open letter to other religious leaders, politicians and pundits calling for civility in public debate and to refrain from using inappropriate references to the holocaust and nazis.
In the last month, there has been a number of public figures that have used Nazis and the Holocaust metaphors in public debates on issues critical to this country. The undersigned faith leaders, call on their colleagues in all religious communities as well as elected leaders, commentators, pundits and others engaged in public debate, that they may refrain from using inappropriate Nazi and Holocaust references to help restore civility to our national dialogue.
