Going Green PSA The average American office worker uses about 500 disposable cups every year.

Every year, Americans throw away enough paper and plastic cups, forks, and spoons to circle the equator 300 times. http://www.cleanair.org/Waste/wasteFacts.html http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://mindfultourist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/water-bottles.jpg&imgrefurl=http://mindfultourist.com/2010/01/20/we-threw-away-a-plastic-bottle-today-but-it-was-just-one/&usg=___XD4867ESuDZANNtVCRY4gOf74U=&h=450&w=338&sz=221&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=DUI4ObM5elP9EM:&tbnh=151&tbnw=109&ei=DhTITe_3CsnUgAe2xbXMBA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dwater%2Bbottles%2Bin%2Blandfills%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-us%26biw%3D1004%26bih%3D610%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=234&page=1&ndsp=14&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0&tx=82&ty=96 http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://mindfultourist.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/water-bottles.jpg&imgrefurl=http://mindfultourist.com/2010/01/20/we-threw-away-a-plastic-bottle-today-but-it-was-just-one/&usg=___XD4867ESuDZANNtVCRY4gOf74U=&h=450&w=338&sz=221&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=DUI4ObM5elP9EM:&tbnh=151&tbnw=109&ei=DhTITe_3CsnUgAe2xbXMBA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dwater%2Bbottles%2Bin%2Blandfills%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-us%26biw%3D1004%26bih%3D610%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=234&page=1&ndsp=14&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:0&tx=82&ty=96 http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.cdvds.co.uk/images/Recycle_CDs_Landfill.gif&imgrefurl=http://greencottonblog.com/2008/12/as-the-economy-slows-so-does-recycling-does-this-have-to-be-so/&usg=__ITs0KHEmms5V511GMQeaeIKT1PI=&h=288&w=454&sz=97&hl=en&start=57&zoom=1&tbnid=BQaCQvLfeQkNkM:&tbnh=112&tbnw=177&ei=pending&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dwater%2Bbottles%2Bin%2Blandfills%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-us%26biw%3D1004%26bih%3D610%26tbm%3Disch0%2C1830&um=1&itbs=1&biw=1004&bih=610&iact=rc&dur=63&page=5&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:2,s:57&tx=125&ty=66 http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/mdcoffeecakes/Earth.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.coffeecakes.com/coffee-and-tea-time-specials.html&usg=__13M_rjaJAJuDUPHfLmBVE3FY2YY=&h=117&w=117&sz=3&hl=en&start=57&zoom=0&tbnid=36LApCY3nBGkIM:&tbnh=88&tbnw=88&ei=rBTITdj0PMHGgAe84tzLBA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dwater%2Bbottles%2Bin%2Blandfills%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:en-us%26biw%3D1004%26bih%3D610%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=344&page=5&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:57&tx=55&ty=62 The wasting of water bottles is crazy, and geting out of control. People need to reilize that if we were all to recycle it would help so much. one person can only help make the change. it would take lots of people. Over 7 billion pounds of PVC are thrown away in the U.S. each year. Only 18 million pounds of that, about one quarter of 1 percent, is recycled.

Every year, Americans throw away enough paper and plastic cups, forks, and spoons to circle the equator 300 times. http://www.cleanair.org/Waste/wasteFacts.html This topic is very inporant, no only one person can make a difference. they can try to do their best but this is a a world wide thing. Everybody has to help out.
If people understood that helping recycle would help not just the earth a bunch but it will also make people for good, for doing something good for the earth. •On average, one person uses 166 disposable plastic water bottles each year.
•If everyone in New York City were to use a reusable water bottle for one week, for one month, or for one year it would make a significant difference in reducing waste.
One week = 24 million bottles saved
One month = 112 million bottles saved
One year = 1.328 billion bottles saved http://www.franklygreen.com/my_weblog/2007/06/bottled_water_f.html •Plastic bottles take 700 years to begin composting
•90% of the cost of bottled water is due to the bottle itself
•80% of plastic bottles are not recycled
•38 million plastic bottles go to the dump per year in America from bottled water (not including soda)
•24 million gallons of oil are needed to produce a billion plastic bottles
•Bottling and shipping water is the least energy efficient method ever used to supply water
•Bottled water is the second most popular beverage in the United States http://greenupgrader.com/3258/plastic-bottle-facts-make-you-think-before-you-drink/ http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-xTrSFgHhMYw/TatlbdBLLgI/AAAAAAAAAHs/ubQt4hMWilM/s1600/water-bottle-waste360.jpg&imgrefurl=http://hetmantj.blogspot.com/2011/04/water-bottle-filling-stations-in-grand.html&usg=__DTsQqaNknLXlsxd0ghIhLwyyXyA=&h=216&w=398&sz=102&hl=en&start=45&zoom=1&tbnid=Q1wYM29Vo02WdM:&tbnh=77&tbnw=142&ei=MGfJTYnmM8jngQe_1dT-BQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3Damazing%2Bwater%2Bbottle%2Bwaste%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Dactive%26biw%3D1004%26bih%3D582%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1&iact=rc&dur=359&page=4&ndsp=15&ved=1t:429,r:10,s:45&tx=103&ty=22 by: victoria sowinski
