Supernatural/Physiological
--Links to psychological horror--
Japanese horror films, commonly referred to as "J-horror", have been noted to be generally of a psychological horror nature

In the past few years several of the more popular Japanese horror films have been entirely remade. Ring was one of the first to be remade in America as The Ring, and later The Ring Two even though the remake almost has no similarity to the original Japanese version
History beneath Supernatural and Psychological Horror
Trailers:
A trailer is a series of selected shots – scariest best clips from the film. However, these are abbreviated to avoid ruining the overall plot, and leaving enough for the audience to want to go and seethe film. These clips aren’t necessarily shown in order, to ensure that the plot isn’t given away. Most trailers tend to be less than 2 minutes 30 seconds, as this is just enough time to show the audience a brief summary of the film, and capture their attention.
What is psychological genre?
Psychological is a specific sub-genre with full focus on the unstable emotional states of characters, in combination with mystery and thriller. Psychological horror uses the fears, guilt, beliefs and emotional instability of a character to evoke the emotional quality of horror.

It has become very popular now in the days as its more realistic and ha allot of suspense
In film
Psychological horror films contrast from  traditional horror film, where the source of the fear is typically something material, such as spirits and ghosts
Rosemary's Baby and The Shining are particularly well-known example of the genre.
Good examples of Psychological films....
Supernatural film is a genre that centers around supernatural elements, such as ghosts, gods, goddesses, and miracles. Supernatural films deal with the unknown questions of life; therefore, they tend to incorporate religious elements into the plot. Since they emphasize the unknown, Supernatural films are considered quite suspenseful. These films often cross over into other genres, creating hybrids like Supernatural-Comedy and Supernatural-Drama.
The ring (Japanese Version)
The Ring American Version
The first representations of supernatural events appear in several of the silent events created by the film pioneer Georges Méliès in the late 1890s, the best known being Le Manoir du diable, which is sometimes credited as being the first horror film .Japan made early assaults into the horror genre with Bake Jizo and Shinin no Sosei, both made in 1898.

Ghosts and monsters still remained a frequent feature of horror, but many films used the supernatural premise to express the horror of the demonic style . The Innocents based on the Henry James novel The Turn of the Screw and The Haunting are two horror-of-the-demonic films from the early 1960s, both made in the UK by American studios. In Rosemary's Baby set in New York, the devil is made flesh. Meanwhile, ghosts were a dominant theme in Japanese horror ( J-horror) films such as The Ring or The Grudge.

What is Yurei?
-White clothing: Yurei figures in Japanese folklore, analogous to Western legends of ghosts. Yurei are females that are usually dressed in white, signifying the white burial kimono used in Edo period funeral rituals. White is a color of ritual purity, traditionally reserved for priests and the dead.

-Black hair: Hair of a yurei is often long, black and disheveled, which some believe to be a trademark carried over from kabuki theater.

-Hands and feet: A yūrei's hands dangle lifelessly from the wrists, which are held outstretched with the elbows near the body. They typically lack legs and feet, floating in the air.
Common Dress code used to represent Supernatural/ psychological characters...
In most of the psychological and supernatural horror films the characters have a original representation which are dressed and showed in a specific way.

Example one...
The Exorcist
The exorcist character is represented by having a white dressing gown, white pale scarred face, demonic eyes, rotten teeth. Her hair is greasy brown and very scruffy.

Her dialogue is very demonic which had a deep voiced man tone.

The Ring
Example Two...
Example Three...
The Grudge
The Grudge s another example similar to the yueri but in this horror they used a male instead of a female.

Here the young male is half naked with a very white, pale skin colour. his wearing a dark coloured shorts with short black hair. Underneath his eyes he has very heavy dark eye bags making the eyes seem wider.
Insidious Movie Trailer
The trailer consists of a typical location, a middle class house in a nice, respectable, quiet neighborhood occupied by a regular loving family. The windows and beds are used to create fear for when the demons presence is about. The windows, beds and doors slam to provoke fear and a "jumpy" and "creepy" scene to the audience. The bed is a key prop as this aids the plot of the film, in order for the demon to get into the mortal realm, he must pass via the child's body when he is sleeping.
Paranormal Activity
This movie trailer has allot of tension towards it giving the audience suspense on whats gonna happen on the scene. it its very short not giving allot of the film away only the best scary bits in order to have the feeling to watch the film and know whats going to happen in it.
My Own Teaser Experiment
Here I have done a short experiment of a teaser based on some ideas I have grabbed through my research. I try create a similar teaser gabbing ideas from 'The Grudge' and 'The Ring'
I decided to create my own character by dressing my sister up in an yueri character mood similar to ‘The Grudge’ and ‘the Ring’ character. I took several images doing different poses.
Some of the images are not focused which creates a mystery effect and creates mood to the image. the lightning was selected to be a dark place as darkness connotes with horror.
