Brought into practice to bring in old items as contribution to the congregation.
The money the Goodwill retail stores make goes to toward certain services such as job training, employment placement services, and other community-based programs for people who have disabilities.

Values and Culture
Offer job-training, employment placement services, and other community-based programs in order to help those with barriers to employment.
Short Term Goals
Transitional Jobs Program.
To create fully functioning and experienced employees so that they may become apart of the much larger labor/ workforce.
Long Term Goals
Balanced Scorecard performance management system.
Allowed framework for non-financial based performances in which give managers and executives a more “balanced” view of the organization’s performance.
Generate lots of money; uses 80% towards training its employees.
Focuses on hiring employees who would otherwise not be considered for employment.
Can sell items at a discounted price.
Criticism that about 7,300 of the 105,00 employed by Goodwill are being paid under federal law because of their disabilities.
Criticism that top executives at Goodwill are being overpaid.
Budget restraints may stop them from being innovative.
Grants through government and private agencies will continue to be available.
Projects such as the Donate Movement has helped Goodwill’s name positively.
Goodwill’s opportunities affect a large population who are considered “unemployable”
Can be largely hurt by economic downturns.

There is no real recovery or disaster plan available.
Goodwill Industries has enough positives to keep it successful for the foreseeable future.
Needs to be further investment in technology and other sectors in order for it to remain successful.

Support our mission of putting people to work.
Employee Compensation and Rewards
Hourly wage based on the position the employee is working.
If you are able to provide a “WOW” experience to a customer and they call in to give a good comment based on that experience you get a ten dollar gift card for McDonald’s to pay for your lunch.

Recommending a property for Goodwill to lease and open a store.
