Transcript of Gucci

By 1921, The House of Gucci was established and was favored of royalty and celebrities alike. Though the vision for the brand was inspired by London, along with English nobility, Gucci's goal on returning to Italy was to ally this classy sensibility with the unique skills of his native Italy. Specifically, with the master craftsmanship of local Tuscan artisans.
House of Gucci
Guccio Gucci was only a teenager, working at the Savoy Hotel in London during the 1900s. He was inspired with the fashion his customers were wearing so he went back to his hometown in Florence and opened his own shop making travel luggage and accessories.
In 1938, Gucci expanded his business to Rome. In 1951, Gucci opened their store in Milan and two years later, the company expanded overseas with the opening of the Manhattan store.
After the death of Guccio Gucci in 1953, the brand became a family business when his sons Aldo, Vasco, Ugo and Rodolfo took over the company.

Presence on the Stock Market
The company goes public on October 1995 on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) with trading beginning at $22 per share.
Gucci’s stock price reaches a record high of more than $70 per share on the NYSE a year later on May of 1996.
I chose Gucci because i believed it is one of the greatest luxurious brand in the world. With that, it is also one of the earliest brand that had chosen to open their store to the Vietnamese market in 2010.
The Mastermind
Its rich heritage and incomparable craftsmanship capabilities was what helped Gucci earned the title 'the most desirable luxury brand in the world' in 2007, given by the Nielsen Company.
With the celebration of the brand turning 90, a museum in which handbags, coats and jewellery from the Gucci archive will go on display alongside work by contemporary artists, will be located in Florence, Italy.
