Marketing formed in 1961 by Reuben and Rose Mattus.
The company is originally located in New York, Bronx.
His uncle was in the Italian lemon-ice business, which is how he got his start.
In the 1950s, the large mass-producers of ice cream started a price war with Reuben that he couldn’t compete with. H i s t o r y Ice-cream a global chain of ice cream parlors founded by Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins in 1953.
started out in separate ventures at the advice of Irv’s father.
Irv opened Snowbird Ice Cream in Glendale, California.
His store featured 21 flavors and emphasized high-quality ice cream sold in a fun, personalized atmosphere.
A year later, Burt opened Burton's Ice Cream Shop.
By 1948, they had six stores between them. This concept eventually grew into Baskin-Robbins.
Company's production facility opened in Burbank.
They made the decision to sell the stores to the managers, thus becoming one of the first franchised food service businesses.
Started the first stored by creative ingenuity and philosophy of fun into their ice-cream store.

Promotion Product The Häagen-Dazs brand quickly developed a loyal following.
Its early success was created by word of mouth and praise.
Without the benefit of advertising the story of an incredibly rich and creamy confection spread rapidly.
At first, it was only available at gourmet shops in New York City, but soon distribution expanded throughout the east coast of the U.S., and by 1973 Häagen-Dazs® products were enjoyed by discerning customers throughout the United States.
Then in 1976, Mr. Mattus' daughter Doris opened the first Häagen-Dazs® shop. It was an immediate success, and its popularity led to a rapid expansion of Häagen-Dazs shops across the country. In 1983 Mr. Mattus agreed to sell Häagen-Dazs to The Pillsbury Company, which remained committed to the tradition of superior quality and innovation on which Häagen-Dazs was founded.
Since then, it has become a global phenomenon, available in 54 countries.
But the same careful attention to quality that Reuben Mattus built into every Häagen-Dazs® product, remains today.
Ice Cream lovers the world over now recognize the unique Häagen-Dazs logo as synonymous with the ultimate super-premium ice cream. How the name Häagen-Dazs is invented?? Reuben wanted to use a foreign sounding name, known as foreign company as to sell for higher price.
Reuben sat at the kitchen table for hours saying nonsensical words until he came up with a combination he liked, Haagen-Dazs.
He did it that way to make the name more original and unique.
He invented the name to sound somewhat Danish, as a tribute to Denmark’s extraordinary treatment of the Jews during World War II.
