depression resulting from cancer

Depression is a serious medical condition in which a person feels very sad, hopeless, and unimportant and often is unable to live in a normal way.
"Depression is not a side effect of cancer. Depression is a side effect of dying"(Green).

Cancer has many side effects that need to be coped with.
Depression develops from cancer.
Awareness of side effects

More people are getting diagnosed with cancer.
Depression rate rising
Strongest factor in women with breast cancer

Strongest predictor of emotional and behavioral problems in their children.
Limits their abilities to do "normal people" activities such as sports.
Sometimes, people have to live with their illness for the rest of their life.
This problem starts when a person is diagnosed with cancer.
Family, friends, and relatives are affected because they hate to see one of their family member's struggle and suffer.
No culture or religion is against someone with cancer.
Cancer is a disease that people have worldwide.
Cancer patients need to learn how to cope with their depression so they can regain their happiness

The main character, Hazel, goes to Support Group to talk about her feelings and to meet new friends(Green).
In the real world, people with depression can go to support groups, just like Hazel(Green).
Impacts people in a positive way and it helps them deal with their problems.
You can talk to someone about your feelings.
This solution would work because they don't have to go through anything else that might cause more depression.
Support groups best solves the problem.
In the video, Alfie talks about how depression was caused from cancer in his life. He explains that people dont really understand the true meaning behind being depressed and how it impacted him. Alfie had difficulties with having depression and had to really try hard to beat the depression from his cancer. When you have cancer, it is hard to know whats coming which can be very scary for the patient which causes depression.
