Transcript of Dog vs cat

Dogs usually beat cats in IQ tests. An IQ test is a test that assess intelligence. They also have a larger vocabulary.
A dogs brain has been growing continuously over time. Research at the University of Oxford show that more social animals need bigger brains. Since dogs are more social, dogs would need bigger brains. That is why their brains are growing over time.
A dogs brain is bigger than a cats. Does that make it smarter? Usually people will jump to the conclusion that, the bigger the brain, the smarter the animal. That doesn't always prove intelligence.
A cats brain might be smaller than a dogs but, in a part of the brain called the cerebral cortex. That is the part of the brain responsible for learning and memory. Cats have 300 million neurons while dogs only have 160 million neurons. That's about half of a cat! That
Cat brains have stayed the same since they were first domesticated 8,000 years ago. However their cerebral cortex has more neurons than Dogs, therefore cats have more ability for information processing and making independent decisions.
Dogs may beat cats in IQ tests, but are cats just to smart for them? Maybe they just don't see a point for this test.
