Primary focus is to meet the needs of the employer
Typically used to fill higher level positions, seeking expects in the field or industry
Where are they?
websites, newspapers, journals, etc.
5-10% of people actually get interviews and are hired this way
Job Postings
Targeted Mail Campaigns
Mailing of resumes or broadcast letters to potential employers, specifically targeted companies
Gets your name in front of potential employers
Should be combined with other search methods.
Scheduled gatherings of local employers
Public employment agencies, temporary placement firms or staffing agencies, schools (secondary and post-secondary), and training programs.
