MacBeth
Appearance/Reality
In act 1, scene 5, Lady Macbeth told Macbeth, "Greet the king with a welcoming expression in your eyes, your hands, and your words. You should look like an innocent flower, but be like the snake that hides underneath the flower". She was really saying that he should be innocent to King Duncan at first but when the time is right go in for the kill. When Macbeth was at the dinner he was scared when he the ghost of Banquo. Everyone thought he was crazy but in reality he was actually seeing the ghost. (act 3, scene 4, page 3)
Ambition
In act 1, sence 4, Macbeth said "Malcolm is now the prince of Cumberland! To become king myself, I’m either going to have to step over him or give up, because he’s in my way. Stars, hide your light so no one can see the terrible desires within me. I won’t let my eye look at what my hand is doing, but in the end I’m still going to do that thing I’d be horrified to see". He pretty much was saying that he wasnt going to let anyone in his way of being King. That meant even if he had to things that he was mortified to do. In act 3, Macbeth stated, "To be the king is nothing if I’m not safe as the king. I’m very afraid of Banquo" which meant as King he wanted Banquo to be delt with because Banquo was a threat to Macbeth. So he ordered 2 killers to go kill Banquo. In Act 5, scene
Derrick Rose's ambition is different from Macbeth's because Derrick Rose worked hard the whole season to get what was his, to be crowned MVP of the 2010-2011 season. His passion, desire, and the love of the game is made him achieve his goal.
Macbeth's ambition was a lot different than Derrick Rose. In the beginning of the play MacBeth was the type of person who would never kill for power. But after his wife convinces him to kill Duncan, he starts to kill more and more with having any remorse.
Men/Women
In act 1, scene7, Lady Macbeth said “May you only give birth to male children, because your fearless spirit should create nothing that isn’t masculine.” That meant that she wanted to be more like man because she thinks that it’ll make her tougher and more able to do the evil acts she wants to. In act 2, scene 2, Lady Macbeth said "Coward! Give me the daggers. Dead and sleeping people can’t hurt you any more than pictures can. Only children are afraid of scary pictures. If Duncan bleeds I’ll paint the servants' faces with his blood. We must make it seem like they’re guilty.
Throughtout the story Macbeth, women have been important because the three witches told Macbeth that he would be king and listened to them. Lady Macbeth persuaded Macbeth to kill King Duncan so that he could be King. During World War II, women had to step up in take on male jobs to support the men and their family while their husbands were out in the war which was really important.
And so she smiled
As sweet as can be
In the face of the monster
Called reality.
It bared its ugly teeth
And flared its nostrils wide
Under its scrutinizing glare
There was nowhere to hide
In its home, a cave
Filled with dark shadows, no light
She tried to run
As her soul was filled with fright
But the monster gave chase
And despite how fast the little girl tried to run
The monster was always ahead
And it seemed like he had won
Her throbbing legs
And aching heart
Proved how she felt
Like she was being torn apart
Was there anywhere
She would be safe and free
A place where she could escape
The pains of reality?
Because that monster
Tests and tries
To break you down
Your dead soul is his prize
When you run away
He will pursue
But if you befriend him
He will be helpful to you
Don’t run
Despite the chase
Invite him to join you
And create your own place
Reality, you fiend
I thought you were my foe
But truly you’re my comrade
And now, the truth I know
The poem talks about how people say life is hard and cruel but in reality your just making things a lot harder than what they really are. In Macbeth, they talk about how cruel Macbeth is but in reality deep down Macbeth is the same Macbeth as he was in the beginning.
Conclusion
The three themes that are mentioned Macbeth are themes are all around the world. Yes, there are people with bad and good ambitions out there. Women who take on male roles, and people facing reality head on
