MADE BY RU :) REINCARNATION RETELL: This song: Lose Yourself by Eminem is basically telling you that every single second in your life could be an once in a lifetime opportunity that could change your life forever. In the first paragraph it talks about seizing everything you ever wanted in one moment. Most, if not all of Eminem's songs talk about his personal life like this one. Eminem started doing a lot of drugs, legal and illegal at a young age around 16. Then one day he thought of his family (mainly his daughter) and what they would think of his actions, so he started trying to quit, like in the line “Lonely roads, God only knows. He's grown farther from home, he's no father. He goes home and barely knows his own daughter.” Which was true. He didn't know what had became of his only daughter (he later adopted another one). At first, it didn't go so well. He tried to quit but after a little while he couldn't. The first few days were good, but it only got harder for him, and he couldn't handle it anymore. Like the line “It only grows harder, only grows hotter...” But that didn't finish his attempts. He might have missed his first opportunity but he kept on trying. A long time ago he made a decision that would change his life in one moment. Then he made another decision that would change his life again. He realized that if he didn't provide care for his family what would be the point of living like this, doing drugs all day letting it take over his life. “And I can't provide the right type of life for my family...” So he quit, and he didn't go back. “So here I go this is my shot. Feet fail me not cause maybe the only opportunity that I got." After reading all that, there is only one moral. Every second, of every minute, of every day you make a decision that will change your life, your future. So choose wisely. RELATE Lose Yourself by Eminem relates to a story I wrote myself for an extension in 6th grade originally called “Addiction” but then I changed it to “Miracle”. It talks about a 15 year old-ish person that's addicted to alcohol... And then starts to play soccer to keep his mind off alcohol. Then after time, he forgot about it totally. I know the plot is kind of weird but come on give me some credit. It also relates to other Eminem songs about his life with drugs. Like “Not Afraid”, and “Love the way you lie”. These two songs make it a bit more obvious of what kind of story it tells. They both have the line “It feels like a steel knife down my windpipe.” However “Not Afraid” and Lose Yourself both talk about Eminem's daughter and how she influenced his choice to quit. Every single one of Eminem's songs is a story about a part of Eminem life. I also relate to the world. Many people have lived through a part of the story this song is telling. Many people are addicted to drugs legal, or illegal. Many people in the word have been influenced by Eminem's song. Like in “Not Afraid” there's a line that goes like: “He's married to the gang, like a fudge for Christmas” meaning that the addict is too obsessed with looking cool with the gang, or really just addicted to the actual drug. Many people who have already lived through half of his life took his influence and choose the right decision in the end. It's obvious that Eminem contributed a lot to the world. Not just the musical world, but the actual world. As for me, I can relate to Lose Yourself sometimes I do take a wrong turn in my life. Take a wrong decision, but in the end I always change my decision. MY LYRICS Look, if you had one shot, or one opportunity

You can do anything if you set your mind to it man. REFLECT This song: Lose Yourself by Eminem reminds me of when at times in my life I was really nervous. Early on, my piano teacher required us to perform a few songs every Christmas eve, New Year, and sometimes in between. At that time, I felt a lot of pressure, but usually played exceptional. The person Eminem is rapping about is going to present a song or rap or something like that, but the pressure overwhelms him. The crowd starts cheering so loud and he just forgot his lyrics to his own song. Over the years, I learned to control how much pressure I really feel. Now, I only feel a bit of pressure to make me feel the adrenaline. Like in a soccer tournament, I feel a little bit of pressure that powers me, fuels me for the games to come, and when the game starts I just lose myself in the game that I don't feel anymore pressure. Or as Eminem would rap “I lost myself in the music”. I wonder how the rapper/singer that Eminem is rapping about overcomes his "nervousness" because for me, I don't do anything I just wait until I realize that there's not a reason to be nervous, and then I just overcome it. I didn't I also remember some time ago, I was tried competitive soccer. I made it my first try. I was very surprised by my results. At that time, I wasn't a star of my team... I was like Norris Cole in the Miami Heat. Surrounded by super stars like Chris Bosh, Dwayne Wade, and LeBron James. Then one game, it was 1-1. It was down to the last few moments of the game we needed to win to avoid elimination. Then, the ball came perfectly to me, and I just followed my instincts and shot, and scored. It was a moment that I would remember, a moment that I was the star. I was LeBron, I was Bosh, I was Wade. Whenever I hear this song, I think of that moment, now I am one of the stars, and now I laugh when I think of myself making such a fuss because of one goal, just one goal. But, that was then, and this is now. I also wonder what the rapper/singer felt once he succeeded because for the example I just gave you, I couldn't believe that had just happened and nothing else. I wouldn't change anyting about the music/lyrics because it tells the moral really well, and everything relates even if you don't think so you just have to listen carefully. MEDIA QUESTION MEDIA QUESTION: I think my CD cover would attract a potential buyer because everyone wants a good deal, and I do have a good deal. On top of my CD jacket it says: Buy 3 get the fourth for ½ price. Everyone wants a good deal from 7 year olds who want a good deal of Pokemon cards or to adults who always wait for a sale before buying something. This is also a good marketing deal. The original CD price could be 10 dollars. If we sell for $16.99 then I would be making around $7 every single album. The 3 and fourth 1/2 price would be making me extra money. Special offers can be very decisive. Also I think the cover page is very attracting with the background. It makes it stand out, so it will convert the attention of a costumer. Also, on the back of my album there is a PG-13 sign. Teenagers like us don't want to listen to little kids' music. So with the sign on the back teenagers would want to buy it more. Also, many “little kids” do not pay a lot of attention so there's a good chance that they'll miss the sign. That's why I think my CD would attract a potential buyer. MY ME CD PRESENTATION: Conclusion In conclusion, I have retold, related, and reflected about this song: Lose Yourself by Eminem. Now, I would like you to know the two lines that stand out to me the most.

1. "Snap back to reality, oh there goes gravity, oh there goes rabbit..." This verse stands out to me because there's a saying that goes like "Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift that is why we call it present." Basically, it means don't dull on the past, and don't think about what will happen in the future, think of what's happening this moment. Which relates to Lose Yourself because the person Eminem is rapping about just failed his performance, but he needs to 'Snap back to reality'. Even if reality is bad, and even though what could have happened is better. You can't change the past, so focus on the present and at least try to get that right :)

2. The Chorus: "You better lose yourself in the music, the moment you better never let it go you only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow, this opportunity comes once in a lifetime yo." This verse stands out to me because just like my reflection with my soccer game and scoring the winning goal. Sometimes, somethings only happen once in a lifetime, and you don't know that until it's over so savour every single second in your life.
