FLAN History Flan, also called cream caramel, is a eurpoean dessert served mostly in France and Spain In Mexico it is refered to as flan leche It is a dessert availible at celebrations and in the past was considered a special treat What is Flan? Custard topped with carmel the carmel is often a crystalized sugar similar to cream brulee, but the carmel shell is soft Today most commonly associated with mexican resaurants in America There are different recipes and traditions for every culture
