Background of the Study
The Researchers would like to introduce the topic being agreed on which is all about the “Availability of equipment and facilities” first to be discuss is about the availability of the HRM laboratory to the students taking up the subject HRM 312A or Culinary and Arts as we have concluded this kind of problem because we have all know that we are not the only class or as we say students who are using the laboratory for our own personal use there are the high school, the other HRM students and of course the other courses that needs the lab for some of their personal events that needs the cooking amenities of the HRM lab although there are not much so called events of the other courses but still it adds up in the limited spaces in the labs calendar which gives us the HRM students who really need the lab little or not enough time to work with some of our teacher plan for us.
Next is about the availability of equipment in the HRM lab the big question that every student in HRM ask. Is the items needed in cooking in the HRM lab complete, durable, and safe to use? the school my say yes but the students preferably say no for the reason that there are some updated items that aren’t yet available in the UMTC HRM lab some example are the kitchen grinder, kitchen torch, different kind of knives and many more , yet there is still more for the UMTC HRM labs stoves, ovens and refrigerators are old and worn out and not properly maintained by the school.
Lastly about the satisfaction of the students in terms of the needs of the students only little is achieve for the reason of the not giving much importance of the school in the said course HRM for the reason that in the pass HRM in UMTC was not so popular or only little has discovered the many opportunities of said course that is why the school has downgraded the said course because of the count of students enrolled in the course HRM.
The summary of our study is all about the availability of the equipment and facilities of the HRM laboratory to the students taking the subject HRM or culinary and arts .Many students using the laboratory for own personal use there are the high school and the other HRM students and of courses and the other courses that needs the laboratory for some personal events that needs to cook and the HRM lab although there are are not much so called events of the other courses but still it adds up in the limited spaces in the lab. the availability of the equipment in HRM lab is the items that need to cook and the lab it is the complete and durable to use for the student but said the other student that there are some updated items does not yet available in UMTC HRM lab for some example are the kitchen grinder, kitchen torch, different kind of knives and many more and yet there is still for the UMTC HRM lab the stoves ovens and refrigerators are old and already worn out and not yet properly maintained the school that the responsibility of the school to buy many equipment for the lab so that many student cant help to use the HRM lab.The satisfaction of the students is only little to achieve for the reason of not giving much importance of the school in the course HRM for the reason that in pass HRM in UMTC was not so popular or only little has discovered the many opportunities of the course to get our goals in life as a students.

Kitchen Lab Facilities
Humber’s dedicated kitchen labs comprise the most modern facilities in the world. Among the seven on-campus labs are the award-winning Compass Group Canada culinary demonstration theatre and kitchen lab, and the Garland and Mandarin induction cooking labs, all of which feature a high-tech exhaust system, a theatre style seating area, a cooking demonstration area, and plasma screen TVs. Other labs include a dedicated butchery and charcuterie lab, small quantity multipurpose kitchens, the kitchens of The Humber Room restaurant and two dedicated baking and pastry labs.
Next month, the Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management will complete construction of a new kind of classroom.
The restaurant management lab was conceived with the intentions of becoming a live classroom in which students will learn the ins and outs of the food production and restaurant managing business.
“We are preparing our students to manage high-end facilities. This lab will give them the tools they need to work at world-renowned restaurants, hotels or their own business,” said Lazaro Gonzalez, the marketing representative for the school.
Students will have hands-on experience in the restaurant’s kitchen, which features a 38-foot main cooking line, the largest to date in South Florida (featured below), various specialized stations for the preparation of items such as pasta, coffee and pastries, the latest cooking equipment and refrigerated units.
Therefore we conclude that the availability of equipment and facilities that the student taking the hrm or culinary arts . It is important to a hrm student to get more and use the laboratory time but the laboratory of umtc is lack of equipment and facilities and the laboratory are also old and the refrigerator ,oven stoves are old and already won't out and not properly maintained by the school that is the problem of the student is a lack of equipment and facilities in umtc hrm lab .The importance of the school HRM Laboratory is to get more different kind of equipment in laboratory to use it for the hrm student and other courses in umtc.
1. Are the equipment and facilities available in the HRM laboratory are properly arranged and installed appropriately?
10 out of 10 students we interviewed said yes. As they observed during their laboratory the equipment and materials found there is well arrange & placed in their proper location and the area is protected from the pest infestation regularly fumigated to eliminate pests.
2. Inquiries and borrowing process of equipment in the laboratory given accurately and appropriately to the HRM 2ND Year students?
10 out of 10 HRM students said yes. As long as the students have the borrowers form signed by the HRM professors, students can borrow equipment from the laboratory and the personnel assigned their will give it.
3. Is HRM 2ND Year students of UMTC feel contented to the school services they receive?
4 out of 10 HRM students we interviewed said yes. They are satisfied to the services they receive from the school they don’t have problem about it and 4 students said not so because they are not really contented of the services they receive. For them there are some services that cannot satisfied them specially from the clinic services .They give a little of medicine and some of the staff there will not believe them to their reasons why they asked for medicine. Two students said NO they are not contented.
We recommend that using the HRM Kitchen Laboratory can help students to cook easily .
By using the equipment in laboratory can help the students knew the newest technology using by the school .
