Transcript of Copy of Heather Simkins Introduction

I'm so excited for a new school year at WI! We're going to have an excellent time learning together!
Hello! My name is Ms. Simkins. I'm a mentor at Williamsburg Intermediate and would like to take a moment to tell you a little about myself...
I grew up in a small town in Utah, the 2nd oldest of six children. We lived on a farm and loved having outside adventures together.
This is me at my best :)
I went to college in Utah and then lived in a few interesting places...including New Mexico, Texas, Washington DC, and New York City.
See you in class!
Today I live in Southern Utah, in the heart of red rock desert. Nearby is Zion's National Park--one of my favorite places to visit.
I still love having outside adventures! In my free time I love to hike, rock climb, learn about nature, and sleep under the stars.
I love to study permaculture -- a design system that works with nature to create sustainable ways of living. Someday I will own land and chickens! :)
I also work as the Assistant Director for Elevation Outdoors, which is an outdoor leadership program for Williamsburg Academy students. I hope to see some of you there someday!
That's me teaching yoga!
I love spending time with my family! Especially hiking in the desert with my nieces and nephews.
