Transcript of Tochigi

Tochigi is a landlocked prefecture in the Kanto Region. Tochigi One of Japan's most popular tourist attractions, the city of Nikko with its famous Toshogu Shrine, is located in Tochigi Prefecture. Prefectural capital is Utsunomiya. The Toshogu is the mausoleum of Tokugawa Ieyasu, founder of the Tokugawa shogunate, which ruled Japan for over 250 years until 1868. The shrine is dedicated to the spirits of Ieyasu and two other of Japan's most influential historical personalities, Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Minamoto Yoritomo. Tochigi's local specialty is Tochigi fried noodles containing potato, and they have the good old common taste such as we enjoyed at the neighborhood sweets shop in old days. The closest major airport is Narita International Airport (NRT / RJAA). This airport is in Tokyo, Japan and is about 90 km from the center of Tochigi, Japan.
