perception
The intention of the pastor stems from his perception of the bible's teachings.
"I have nothing to be ashamed of"
What did the Bible say?
Lev. 20:13,
"If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a
detestable act
; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them"
Lev. 18:22
, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an
abomination
."
1 Cor. 6:9-10,
"Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived;
neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor
homosexuals
, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers,
shall inherit the kingdom of God
."
BUT
Galatians 3:28,
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for
you are all one
in Christ Jesus.
Leviticus 19:18

or
bear a grudge

love your neighbor as yourself
.

Gender Identity Disorder
How does psychology
view homosexuality?
How does the action of forcing one to conform to conventional sexual orientation resemble the practice of equality?
Known as Gender Disphoria in the DSM5
Describes people who are discontent of their birth sex and gender roles, and wished to be or play the roles of the opposite sex.
On the other hand...
"Homosexuality is assuredly no advantage, but it is
nothing to be ashamed of
, no vice,

no degradation
; it
cannot be classified as an illness
; we consider it to be a
variation of the sexual function
, produced by a certain arrest of sexual development." Sigmund Freud
According to the Diagnosis & Statistics Manual (DSM) by the American Psychological Association (APA)
DSM I
DSM II
Classified as a sociopathic personality disturbance
Accepted as a sexual deviation. And in later prints as 'sexual orientation disorder' (SOD).
DSM III
Replaced SOD with 'ego-dystonic homosexuality'
(EDH) and subsequently removed.
