-Unknown Dear Blake, It's hard for me to put into words everything I want to say because no amount of words can acurately describe what you truly mean to me. God has blessed me beyond measure by placing you into my life. You know me better than anyone else and yet you do not judge me, for that I could not be more thankful. I know that no matter where I am or what I am going through, whether it be something serious or just one of my many girl problems, you will always be there for me, to listen and offer advice (even if I do not want to hear it). I look up to you in so many ways, from your carefree attitude to your faith in God. You are one of a kind and anyone that knows you knows how lucky they are to be able to call you a friend. You are kind and funny, crazy and unpredictable. You make a lasting impression on people, it's just who you are. I am so glad that we have stayed friends throughout these years of college; While I was scared we would drift apart, I think the opposite has happened. I cannot imagine life without you and I hope that I never have to. Thank you for always being encouraging and uplifting and getting me through some of the toughest moments of my life. Thank you for always seeing the good in me when I do not see it myself. I honestly could never thank you enough for everything that you have done for me and everything that I know you will continue to do. Thank you for being the absolute best friend that I could ever have. I love you more than words can say! -Stephanie Sixteen years ago Blake Thomas was a new student in third grade at Richfield Elementary School. Sixteen years ago I never thought that I would even be friends with him. Sixteen years ago I had no idea how much my life would change because of him.

Blake was lively, outgoing, and extremely talkative. I was the complete opposite, quiet and shy. A few years passed because of this before we really started to break ground on the friendship we have today. Once we did though, there was no turning back.

In Seventh and Eighth grade my days weren't complete without our hours-on-end phone calls that made me laugh til my stomach was hurting. I can still vividly remember the first time I told him I loved him.

I was sitting on the couch, looking out the window, and talking on the phone. I don't remember what we were talking about, but he had me laughing so hard that the words shot out of my mouth, "Oh my gosh Blake, I love you!" My little brother who, of course, heard me, ran to mom saying "Ooh, Stephanie just told Blake she loved him." Of course I was interrogated once I got off the phone.

We began going to the same church and growing together in our faith, which in turn, grew us closer together as friends. Sunday lunch at my house was tradition and he soon became part of the family. We became inseparable and did everything together. I couldn't tell you how many times in high school we got asked if we dated.

When it came time to graduate and go off to college we decided to attend different Universities. Blake made his way to Campbell University and I went off in the complete opposite direction to Gardner-Webb. I was heartbroken thinking that our friendship would probably die out over the next few years as we both made new friends.

Thankfully I was wrong and can honestly say that we have grown closer throughout our college years. Blake still makes time for me whenever I need him and invites me to Campbell often for dances, sporting and social events.

Sixteen years ago I never imagined our lives would be this intertwined. Sixteen years ago I had no idea that new student would be someone that I wouldn't be able to live without.
Sixteen years ago I met my best friend. Where it all began.. Richfield was founded in 1895. In 1921 the community wanted a new school, so they moved to another area that would allow them to expand in the future and began building a new school. In 1935 the school was open for 1st to 12th graders. In the 1960s the school decided to split and build a separate school for 9-12th grade, creating North Stanly High School where Blake and I eventually attended. In 1976 the old building was knocked down and a new building was constructed to make room for more students. In 2000, when we were in third grade, a new wing was added with eight new classrooms and a brand new cafeteria. In 2010, after a new middle school was built in the area, Richfield became strictly a K-5 school. About Me!
My name is Stephanie Walker and I'm from Richfield, North Carolina. When I graduate I would love to teach Kindergarten for a while and then eventually own my own daycare! My passion is little kids and I cannot imagine doing anything else with my life. I am definitely an adrenaline junkie and love taking risks. Living an ordianry, boring life is not in my life plan. I want to live my life to the absolute fullest. I have big dreams for myself and I plan to go after each and every one of them.

I chose to do this project on my best friend, Blake, just because of how much he means to me and because he's always been there for me. I thought this would be a fun way to incorporate writing with something/someone I truly care about. I also knew that this would be a great little keepsake and something that he and I can look at for years to come.

My intended audience is Blake and myself. I thought this would be something great that we could share and something that we would both have that would forever remind us of each other no matter where life decides to take us.
