Transcript of Hunger Games Book Talk

By Suzanne Collins HUNGER GAMES The hunger games is about a young women named Katniss Everdeen who lives in district 12 with her mother, and sister named Primrose (her nick name is Prim). Every year there is a deadly competition called the hunger games. It's where 2 tributes, a male tribute and a female tribute from districts 1-12 (district 13 was allegedly blown up) have to compete. Prim is chosen as the female tribute, but to save prim, Katniss volunteered to fight for Prim. The boy tribute is Petta Melark. They are not alone, 4 people: Haymitch, Effie Trinket, Portia and Cinna are there to support them. There are many twists and turns. The main characters are Katniss, Petta, Haymitch, Effie Trinket, Cinna, Portia, Cato, Rue, Thresh, Primrose, Gale and Ceaser. The conflict is when Petta has a crush on Katniss, she threatens to kill Petta before the hunger games. She even put glass in his hands. The conflict is resolved when ceaser softens Katniss up and asks "do you love Petta" and she says "I can't live without him." My favorite part is when Katniss takes the ultimate risk by holding out the poison berries and sending the game makers a message. Two victors or no victors. the moral is although this fantasy thriller makes a world of human cruelty, it also offers a few uplifting clues about where power lies. Moral Last year, my dad got us hunting licensee (my mom and sisters did not want one). I learned to use a bow and arrow. I use to kill animals like rabbit. I read the book and I got the idea (I killed more rabbits). Connections (text-self) Big Transitions Summary After the books they made the first movie and making the second movie By: Suzanne
