TACEE Vision and Philosophy on Education
PROBLEM?
Country Level
Lack of resources: overwhelmed (education, health, water etc,)
Fragmented & incoherent policies
Poorly qualifies teaching staff
Lack & poorly furnished equipment & holistic curriculum among many
Independents
Many children ( up to 30%) even after std 7 can't attain std 2 basic Numeracy & Literacy skills
Teachers don't spend sufficient time to teach children to learn core basic skills
Rural marginalized poor students (80%) by far are outperformed by their urban (20) relatively rich peers
Private schools do much better than government schools
Mara region is among 10 poor performing regions (including the recent 2012 final exams performance)
