Words that relate to history
What are some examples of the different ways we record history
What would happen if we didn't have any history?
Who records History or finds out about what happened in the past
There are many different professionals who record history. Such as Historians and Scientists who research and record historical events. However, history can actually be recorded by many more types of people......
Do these people work in different ways?
Each historian has different research methods to gather evidence and record historical events.
For example, Archeologists need to explore and do field work on a historic work site to find historic evidence. Compared to a Journalist who can research documents and interview people to gather their information for their reports.
How do we know about History?

History is taught to us through many different ways. At school we learn about significant events, people and different eras. Our ancestors share stories about their past that have been passed down for generations to share with us. Today people can have access to information on the internet to find out about history. Books are written about historical events, either in fiction and non-fiction type of books.
Different types of Historians
- A person that has information recorded possibly after an interview.
- Information/accounts of someones life but written by someone else.
- Someone who looks after very rare objects that have come from the past.
- A person who writes timelines or keeps dates written down from an important event in the past.
It would be difficult to predict events if we didn't have a recording of historical events. We would not be able to improve our lives and our world, without knowing what made our lives this way.
