Transcript of Lorraine Hansberry
Education Lorraine was only 8 years old when she moved to a white neighborhood. They constantly got threatened and humiliated. They threw a brick at the house almost hitting Lorraine`s head. The Government had to get involved and they made them move. When Lorraine grew older she attended The University of Wisconsin. She wanted to major in panting but, she changed her subject from painting to writing. Major Accomplishments Lorraine Hansberry was the first African-American to write a play and to be produced on Broadway. She worked very hard to produce the play. She also wrote many books as well. Adult Life She made a really good living off of the plays and books she wrote. She maneged to stay humble and be good. She married Robert Nimoff in June 20th 1953.Then she got divorced after several years in 1964. A year later from her divorce she died from cancer on January 16,1965. How did her accomplishments change the world? Her accomplishments had a big influence on the community around her because she was the first to have a play be preformed on Broadway. She gave inclunce to people who thaought they can`t write and made them realize you can do anything. Loraine
