Dow Jones Industrial Average (A.KA DJIA) fell 12%. One of the largest one-day drops in stock market history. partially recovered in november- december of 1929 and then the early 1930's later to crash again in 1932 during the bear market. july 8, 1932 DJIA reached its lowest level and did not return to normal till november 1954.
