Root: Purpose Root: Purpose
I use my creativity and insight to champion self-discovery, self-empowerment and ultimately self-actualization. Sacral: Support
I just started a group called Lushtongue. We are making lush, spiritually mesmerizing, eclectic music for the conscious masses. The following organizations provide support and hold space for my calling, my creativity, my insight:
Fastgirls - a community of women creators committed to living their largest light.
Fractured Atlas - an organization that serves a national community of artists and arts organizations.
A Gathering of the Tribes - an arts and cultural organization dedicated to excellence in the arts from a diverse perspective. It houses an art gallery run by a blind man...can it get any more awesome?!?!
Lisa Nichols - a transformational coach whose workshop I attended.
Love Making Dances - movement that harmonizes our BodyMindSoul with LOVE and moves toward the social change we need to nourish our LOVE. Founded by lioness / spiritual warrior / sexual shaman / dancer / friend Zahava.
The New York Open Center - an educational and cultural center offering programs intended to heal the body, nourish the soul and awaken the spirit. And they have a gorgeous meditation room that's free and open every day!
Sarah Lawrence College - my alma mater. SLC has a strong progressive arts streak and alumni network.
Urban Word NYC - the premier youth spoken word organization in NYC. It's where I found my wings and I've been flying ever since!

Sweet Honey in the Rock
Brooklyn Academy of Music
Agape International Spiritual Center for channeling my creativity and insight to enrich the spiritual well being and expand the consciousness of people who thrive on upliftment, inspiration and living their dreams! I believe that to expand our consciousness and heighten our spiritual well being IS to embrace our wholeness. One system I find valuable in that respect is the chakras: seven primary energy centers that correspond to and govern all the different realms of the bodymindsoul - life force, relationships, power, love, expression / communication, perception / intuition / clarity, and divine connection. Power: Goals and Strategies
I am committed to being the best in the world at inspiring folks to reveal, and revel in, their most soulful selves. I measure success based on the fulfillment of freedom, integrity, wealth, love, healthy relationships, self-expression, peace of mind and God-connectedness in my life. Below is a calendar of rituals that allow me to practice my commitment. Heart: Partnerships
Ayanna Saulsberry - playwright, lyricist, emcee, documentarian, friend, sister.
Jason Chheda - producer, multi-instrumentalist, free spirit.
Margaret Morris - dancer choreographer, somatic vocal practitioner, co-founder of Lushtongue, friend, sister.
Mekesia Brown - artist, my cheerleader, friend.
Rosa Cabrera - artist, educator, activist, mom, friend.
Marc-Eddy Loriston - amazing graphic artist, dad, Rosa's partner.
Journals - you'll never go wrong gifting me a journal for my birthday!
Quietude - a necessary part of my daily spiritual diet.
Singing loudly - a necessary part of my daily spiritual diet. Self-Expression: Strengths, Opportunities and Areas for Growth

Perception: Research, Development, Innovation
I researched 5 pioneers who use music as a vehicle for consciousness evolution. I chose Bobby McFerrin because of his vocal innovation, his melding of musical genres and the love and exuberance that he radiates in live performances. I added Lisa Gerrard for the singular beauty of her voice, the purity of her heart, her soul and her purpose. Rickie Byars Beckwith is on my list because of her ability to nourish spiritual fellowship through song. I am in love with Sweet Honey in the Rock for their soul-stirring harmonies and commitment to showcasing uplifting music of the African diaspora. I rounded it out with Zap Mama, whose eclecticism and fashion forward song structure and lyricism enthrall me.
I continually develop my relationship to myself as a vessel for creativity and insight through meditation, reading, writing, singing, collaging, composing. I'm deepening my relationship to my voice, furthering my knowledge of songs from various cultures and spiritual paths, and developing my skills in throat singing, body percussion and vocal improvisation.
I, Onome the Revelationary... The box -Music described as "inspirational," "conscious," "spiritual," "wholistic" etc. must sound watered down
-Wholistic music is earnest and humorless
-Wholistic music has to be either very specific to one religion/spiritual path or generic Outside the Box -There is an audience hungry for edgy, soulful sacred music
-There is PLENTY of room for irreverence in "reverent" music
-I am cultivating a style that is informed by all different paths of consciousness and spirituality to encompass universal messages Divine consciousness: Legacy
