Discrimination in Schools and Workplaces
Schools in the Northshore school district no longer refer to certain breaks as
"Christmas break" or "holiday break".
There are specified laws to protect employee freedom of religious expression.
The civil rights act of 1964 prohibits discrimination based on race, color, religion,
national origin, or sex.

The Equal employment opportunities commission "is a federal law enforcement agency that enforces laws against workplace discrimination."
Workplaces must allow accommodations for religious expression or freedom unless they produce "undue hardship" on the employer.

An example of accommodation worthy practices are; not working on Saturdays or Sundays in recognition of the Sabbath day.

The pledge of allegiance is no longer required in class. If it is being
said a student can request to leave out the parts that include the word god.

Job application questions about race and sex.
An example of something causing undue hardships is; saying your religion requires that you can only work for 1 millions dollars a year.

What is Religion?
Religion= A system of beliefs that involves rituals, a code of ethics, and a philosophy of life.
