Car Theft: Statistics of National Capital Vehicle thefts fill up 12 to 15% of Delhi's crime statistics.With an escalation in the price of new vehicles, there is a ready market for second hand and stolen vehicles in the country—a reason why car thieves strike everyday in the metropolis, according to police.
•Of the more than 12,000 vehicles stolen in Delhi every year, only 40% is traced.
•Police say the vehicles which are not traced are usually sold in the outskirts of the Capital, UP, Haryana, Bihar, and sometimes, in Nepal, at lower rates. The buyers also modify the vehicles after "sale". Also, 20% of vehicles stolen are used in robberies, murders or highway crimes.


•There are 51,39,549 vehicles in the Capital, of which 15,34,353 are private vehicles (cars), 43,639 buses (all types), 75,603 autorickshaws, 22,503 taxis, 1,41,222 goods vehicles (trucks and tempos), and 13,619 other categories. (As on March 31, 2007)
• This year, 2,377 cars were reported stolen in Delhi, out of which only 296 have been traced. Last year, 4,060 cars were stolen and 519 traced.
• Of the 2,754 two-wheelers that were reported stolen in Delhi this year, only 408 have been traced
. Last year, 4,627 two-wheelers were stolen and 803 traced.
•Cars formed 39% of the vehicles that were stolen last year while two-wheelers formed 52%.
•The number vehicles stolen last year was 9,402 and this year it is 5,501.
• Among bikes, Bajaj and Hero models are a hit among thieves while the Maruti 800 model is the most sought after by them.
A car pre-installed with slow speed gear motor is designed. When any unauthorized person tries to switch on the car then car is on move with the help of the small dc motor Project Overview the circuit attach on the car is activated which starts dial up system and the last dialled number is redialled. As the authorized person receives the call, he enters a prefixed number then reverse signal from that phone is forward to the car and hence car is stopped automatically and raises an alarm automatically. Further, it can locate your car via one of the LBS. Also, the user can dial into the car to control the car or monitor the station of the car. Features of Intelligent Car Securtiy System

Auto- Dial up circuit:
DTMF Decoder IC 8870: This circuit detects the dial tone from a telephone line and decodes the keypad pressed on the remote telephone. The dial tone we heard when we pick up the phone set is call Dual Tone Multi-Frequency, DTMF in short. The name was given because the tone that we heard over the phone is actually make up of two distinct frequency tone, hence the name dual tone. The DTMF tone is a form of one way communication between the dialer and the telephone exchange Circuit Working DTMF decoder A low-power, high-performance CMOS 8-bit microcontroller with 8K bytes of in-system programmable Flash memory. The device is manufactured using Atmel’s high-density nonvolatile memory technology and is compatible with the industry-standard 80C51 instruction set and pinout. The on-chip Flash allows the program memory to be reprogrammed in-system or by a conventional nonvolatile memory programmer. By combining a versatile 8-bit CPU with in-system programmable Flash on a monolithic chip, the Atmel AT89S52 is a powerful microcontroller, which provides a highly flexible and cost-effective solution to many, embedded control applications. The AT89S52 provides the following standard features: 8K bytes of Flash, 256 bytes of RAM, 32 I/O lines, Watchdog timer, two data pointers, three 16-bit timer/counters, a six-vector two-level interrupt architecture, a full duplex serial port, on-chip oscillator, and clock circuitry. In addition, the AT89S52 is designed with static logic for operation down to zero frequency and supports two software selectable power saving modes. The Idle Mode stops the CPU while allowing the RAM, timer/counters, serial port, and interrupt system to continue functioning. The Power-down mode saves the RAM contents but freezes the oscillator, disabling all other chip functions until the next interrupt or hardware reset. *Intimation when vehicle stops
*Online indication of Ignition ON /OFF when vehicle is not moving
*Graphical representation on a map for user’s easy understanding Clubbing 1000’s of vehicles onto a single window for easier track ability
*No external antenna or wires and hence can be hidden under the dash board
*When used as a security system, a Vehicle Tracking System may serve as either an addition to or replacement for a traditional Car alarm
*Automated time sheets, and trip sheets *Distance travelled reports for every trip
Future Scope:
ANTI THEFT SEAT SENSOR, FUTURE OF CAR SECURITY SYSTEM The advantages of this system are -
1. Easy to operate.
2. Arm or Disarm via telephone, and remote control function, so the owner can monitor his car easily at anywhere and any time.
3. Hand free car phone and compatible all cars.
4. Can send SMS to cell phone when alarming, so the owner can get information at any time with answer the telephone
5 Can start or stop engine via SMS and telephone, so the own can start or stop his car while his battery in cell phone with low voltage.

CONCLUSION
The Intelligent GSM alarm system is designed for protect all type of cars. The system is based on the GSM Network and includes almost all requirements the user need.
It can automatically stop the car and dial telephone to the users. It can locate your car via LBS. Also, the user can dial into the car to control the car or monitor the station of the car. In the meantime, the system can send SMS to your cell phone while alarming and you can send SMS to monitor it, too.
Many additional features such as friendly human voice instruction, led indicator, Anti-hijacking, Override switch, Sensitivity of shock sensor adjustable, Power off alarming, Shocking alarming, Bonnet open alarming, Listen-in, Intercom, Automatic central locking system, Parking reminder, Remote trunk release, and so on, can be incorporated of few are done in this project.
