space
and has
mass
.
The Water Cycle

.
Video - The Biogeochemical Cycles
Various Cycles and Vocabulary
The
Carbon
and
Oxygen
cycles - the natural processes by which
essential gases
are continuously
cycled
through the
biosphere.

Nitrogen
fixation - the process of
capture
and the
conversion
of
nitrogen
into a form that is useable by
plants
.

Denitrification
- the process in which some organisms (
bacteria
) convert fixed nitrogen compounds back into nitrogen gas, returning it to the atmosphere.

Answer questions 1-5 on page 49 in the textbook. You do not have to write the questions but be sure to answer questions in a complete sentence.
Objectives
I CAN describe how nutrients move through the living and non-living parts of an ecosystem.

I CAN compare the biogeochemical cycles of nutrients.

Biogeochemical Cycle
The biogeochemical cycle is the
exchange
of matter through the
biosphere
.
