Founder and Time
The founder of Buddhism was Siddhartha Gautama. He founded it in 534 BCE, when he turned 35. He achieved enlightenment after experiencing the three forms of suffering. Once he saw how to gain freedom, he became the Buddha.
Law
At the heart of the Buddha's teachings, there were four guiding principles; which became known as the Four Noble Truths.
Place of Worship
Buddhism is practiced in temples, where people mainly meditate to reach an enlightened state.

Nirvana
is a state of perfect peace. Reaching nirvana frees the soul from suffering.

Enlightenment
is an ideal state of happiness after living a life of difficulty.

No single person founded Hinduism. It developed slowly, over a long period of time, growing out of centuries of older traditions such as Vedic beliefs and Brahmanism.

is a class or group in Hindu society. Indians were born into a certain caste, and could not change it. Today, caste discrimination is outlawed in India.

Hinduism is also practiced in temples, but people mainly pray to god and recite the vedas while meditating.

is a belief found in Hinduism and other Indian traditions that a person has a duty or obligation to live an honorable life.

The Vedas are a collection of ancient writings including verses, hymns, prayers and teachings composed in Sanskrit. They are viewed sacred by many Hindus.

Karma:
a belief that the good and evil done in a past life determines the nature of that person's next life.

according Hindu teachings, everyone has a soul, or

, inside them. This soul holds the person's personality, the qualities that make them who they are.
