Devoted himself to this study for the next six years and would publish articles about this study.
Hahnemann successful?? Kiersten Mulcare, Norma Ross, Andrew Wieland Homeopathy What is Homeopathy? Homeopathy is a complete system of medicine which aims to promote general health by reinforcing the body’s own natural healing capacity. Hippocrates to Hahnemann 1775 Meissen, Saxony 1820 Homeopathy lands in the U.S.A. 1825 Homeopathy came to the United States...the country upon which it would have the most profound impact. Hering's Law of Cure 1860 continued.
Homeopathic doctors were expelled from medical societies.
Homeopathic doctors were also stripped of common courtesies like being called a doctor.
Some doctors were cut out of social aspect of being a doctor.
BUT CHANGE FINALLY CAME!
As Homeopathy started to grow it grew very quickly.
Homeopathy was able to support itself and as scientists learned more about it then they brought it into the physicians world.
Homeopathy was finally on its way to being recognized. Homeopathy Today Homeopathy has lagged in United States but is slowing beginning to become more popular.
Homeopathy is now used in 1/3 of all medical fields.
United States of Homeopathy has increased in the last twenty years.
Homeopathic remedy sales increased by 100% in 1980s and have been growing at at 20-25% annual rate during the 1990s.
National Center for Homeopathy has increased membership by 10 percent in the last decade. 1790 Hahnemann's Discovery Why AMA was against Homeopathy: The first reason Allopathic doctors did not want to be wrong.
A second reason is that Allopathic physicians did not want to investigate what Homeopathy was. 1844 Allopathy vs. Homeopathy
continued. 5. Allopathic remedies act upon the whole body.
6. Allopathy is mostly made up of tortures.
7. Allopathy can manufacture chronic diseases.
8. Allopathic remedies often do kill.
9. Allopathic doses are immense. Law of Infinitesimals Medicines are more efficacious the smaller the dose, even as small as dilutions of up to one-millionth of a gram. Constantine Herring How did it all start?? Hippocrates 460BC
The "Father Of Medicine"
The body is able to heal itself-the patient is to be treated not the disease. Life of Hahnemann 1810 Allopathy vs. Homeopathy Law of Similiars Diseases are cured by medicines having the property of producing in a healthy persons symptoms similar to those of the disease. Critics were more numerous than people who believed in Homeopathy.
Average people were protected by customary medicine.
Physicians were called fools that dealt with Homeopathy.
Homeopathy was often considered to be "Quack"
People who supported Homeopathy actually wound up being the worst and strongest enemies.
The people who "supported" Homeopathy would disappear so that they would not get reprimanded when Allopathic doctors were overpowering this field. In reading about Hydrotherapy a source stated that Hydrotherapists were convinced that in all diseases the medical means of a cure can produce only increased misfortunes of disease even if in acute diseases they are of apparent good.
They were farther convinced that there is no disease and not state of disease in which the greatest assistance and benefit cannot be afforded by the water cure. Age 12 teaching Greek to other pupils
Age 20 mastered 8 languages and began to study medicine
First studied at Leipzip and the Vienna and was qualified in medicine by 1779 What she thinks Hahnemann wanted... 1. Homeopathy has an unerring law by which to administer its remedies.
2. Homeopathy has a perfect knowledge of the power of drugs.
3.Homeopathy gives but one remedy at a time.
4. Homeopathy prescribes according to the symptoms of each patient. 1. Allopathy has no law or set principle whatever.
2. Allopathy has no such knowledge.
3. Allopathy gives mixtures and compound which it is utterly ignorant of.
4. Allopathy presribes according to the name. 5. Homeopathic remedies act only upon the diseased organ.
6. Homeopathy is a mild system using no torues.
7. Homeopathy can cure chronic diseases.
8. Homeopathic remedies do not kill.
9. Homeopathic doses are small. AMA 1846 Hahnemann writes a book called Organon of Medicine: The Relational Art of Healing.
Homeopathy rose in popularity because it was safer and more successful than prevailing orthodox treatments.
Death rates during epidemics of scarlet fever, cholera, diphtheria, measles, yellow fever, and other infectious diseases were reported as lower in homeopathic than in orthodox hospitals. The apothecaries disliked Hahnemann. He found that the apothecaries did not always make the correct medicine's for patients. As his distrust grew towards the apothecaries he chose to dispense his own medicines, which was illegal in Germany. 1820 continued Hahnemann is arrested in Leipzig for "entrenching upon their [apothecaries] privileges by the dispensing of medicines.
Hahnemann moved to Kothen and this is where he delegated his special permission to practice and dispense his own medicines by Grand Duke Ferdinand.
Duke Ferdinand was one of the many members of European royalty who supported homeopathy. Apothecary Defined: A person who prepared and sold medicines and drugs Allopathy Defined: Medicine) the orthodox medical method of treating disease, by inducing a condition different from or opposed to the cause of the disease Different from Homeopathy? Example: A person suffering from a fever would be treated with a drug known to increase the pulse rate of a person in health Hahnemann's second principle Homeopathy Dilution or Law of Infinitesimals 1800-1890
The Father of American Homeopathy 1st Law: Healing progresses from the deepest part of the organism-the mental and emotional levels and the vital organs-to the external parts, such as the skin and extremities.
2nd Law: As healing progresses, symptoms appear and disappear in the reverse of their original chronological order of appearance.
3rd Law: Progresses from the upper to lower parts of the body. For instance, a person is considered to be on the mend if the arthritic pain in his/her neck has decreased although he now has pain in the finger joints Post treatment symptoms were codified by Hering a German Homeopath who emigrated to the United States in the 1830s Homeopathy organized the American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH), became American's first national medical society. A rival group formed which then vowed to slow the development of homeopathy. American Medical Association 1860 Story: An Allopathic doctor left a child for dead because all was done. A homeopathic came and gave the child remedies and the child was saved. The Allopathic doctor angry at the parents for choosing to give the child Homeopathic remedies came back and gave the child a strong dose of medication. The child died making the Allopathic reputation remain. Homeopathy Links to Hydrotherapy How this links:
Hydrotherapists believed just as Homeopaths did about how orthodox medicines created worse situations. They also both are convinced that their type of medicine has the ability to cure any disease.
