The First Nations would trade beaver pelts for iron wears such as pots and pans. He also made the First Nations do things for him and to take him places. The Coureurs De Bois had made contributions to the colony of New France by Trading. This is a good thing because if they didn't trade than they would never have gotten the furs. So trading helped the colony of New France. http://cache.eb.com/eb/image?id=91554&rendTypeId=4 New France is a colony that was founded by Samuel de Champlain. Samuel de Champlain would trade with the First Nations. They would trade beaver pelts for iron wears such as pots and pans. Samuel would be able to get the First Nations to deliver things for them. Relations with the First Nations was helpful because then the First Nation could tell other tribes that they know to trade with Samuel de Champlain. Champlain would then have more beaver pelts to give to the French King.
