About Chris Chris was born February 9, 1954 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

His parents are Thomas Turner and Bettye Jean Gardner.

His older half-sister, Ophelia, is from a previous union. His younger siblings, Sharon and Kimberly, are children from his mother's marriage to Freddie Triplett. Some of the rough times he had in his child hood. Him, his mother, and his siblings
were abused, by their step father.

His mother wanted to burn down the house with Triplett in it.

Bettye's kids got sent to foster care. Chris Gardner Chris's education Chris Gardner enlisted in the navy
right after graduating high school
and never received a college degree. Chris's marriage life On June 18, 1977, Chris Gardner married Sherry Dyson.

They had a son on January 28, 1981. His
name was Christopher Jarrett Medina Gardner Jr.

After nine years of marriage, he and Sherry were legally divorced in 1986. Chris's advise to his son.. Even though he had a hard childhood he succeeded in having a successful life. He was so successful that they made a movie about him.

He inspired many people to keep on trying and to have confidence in themselves. Success... He is a very determined man... He is a successful man... The movie The Pursuit of
