has a special meaning in geography it means more than where a place is it also describes what a place is like , physical characteristic such as landforms , climate and plant or animal lifes ; helps geographers distinguish different kinds of places
how people have shaped our world(human) how their actions affect the environment(environmental)
when people chose to settle in certain places and not in others
the 5 topics of human and physical geography that geographers focus on and study
describes a precise point on Earth using mapped coordinates
describes where something is by using another, familiar feature as a reference point.

Imaginary lines that run East to West around the globe
Equator = 0 degrees Latitude
Imaginary lines that run North and South around Equator
Prime Meridian is 0 degrees longitude
Latitude and Longitude are used to find the exact absolute location of a place on the globe
