Black History Canada
Every year, Canadians are invited to participate in Black History Month festivities that honour the legacy of black Canadians from past and present.

In 1909, many black oklahoma had moved to Canada's prairies because they were hoping to find respect but instead they found discrimination and were facing danger.
George Washington Carver

George Washington Carver (1864-1943) grew up in Missouri with a white family that originally kept his mother as a slave because his mom black.

Black history month was first officially celebrated by the Government of Canada in February 1992.
Rosa park went on a bus and there was 10 seats reserved for white people and soon the seats were filled. A white man came on the bus and the bus driver said " all black people had to give up there seats" .
