Transcript of CHANGES IN MATTER

Physical Changes
In physical changes, the change happens,
but
the matter forming the object
does not change
There are four types of physical changes:
CHANGES IN MATTER: PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL CHANGES
Chemical Changes
When something changes through a chemical reaction, the matter is also modified.
There are 4 types of chemical changes:
Combustion, Oxidation, Putrefaction and Fermentation
2. Change of
shape
The shape of the object is changed, but the matter stays the same.

3. Changes of
Temperature
We can
heat up
,
cool down
or
melt
an object or substance but the matter will not change
1. Change of
place
2. Change of
shape
3. Change of
temperature
4. Change of
state
1. Change of
place
The object is moved from one place to another.
You can be at the top of a mountain or in your bed. The
place is different, but the matter in you stays the same.
4. Change of
State
It is when a substance changes from from one state to another

SOLIDIFICATION
1.COMBUSTION
Combustion is when something burns, like the candles of a birthday cake or the petrol we use to make a car move
2. OXIDATION
Oxidation is when something rusts. For example when some metals are in contact with water
3. PUTREFACTION
Putrefaction is when something
decays
, like the food when it turns bad.
4. FERMENTATION
Fermentation converts the sugar of a substance into acids, gases or alcohol.
