00:04 - 00:06
Okay. Hello and welcome to the five minute planner.
00:07 - 00:10
M very much appreciate you taking time to check it
00:10 - 00:14
out on dhe Hope to provide as much value Be
00:14 - 00:17
office much use as I can as quickly as I
00:17 - 00:21
can on dhe to do that in this video, we're
00:21 - 00:23
going to take a very quick overview of some of
00:23 - 00:26
the concepts of the planet on dhe how you can
00:26 - 00:28
get up and running and putting it to use a
00:30 - 00:30
ZX quickly as you can.
00:30 - 00:35
So, in terms of the kind of key goal of
00:35 - 00:38
the planet, it was to create a process that helped
00:39 - 00:41
me create progress and will help us create progress.
00:42 - 00:48
So progress here I define as kind of completing tasks,
00:48 - 00:49
not just cataloging them.
00:50 - 00:53
It's about moving forward on its about, moving forward on
00:54 - 00:55
on goals that matter to us.
00:56 - 00:58
Eso That's what we're looking for, Andi.
00:59 - 00:59
I wanted a process.
01:00 - 01:02
I wanted to take all the kind of various information
01:03 - 01:06
and insights available out there from the amazing kind of
01:06 - 01:11
productivity. Researchers exemplars ah, nde boil it down to actual
01:12 - 01:15
physical steps that I could do each day and that
01:15 - 01:16
I would do each day.
01:17 - 01:19
Um So s so.
01:19 - 01:21
That's where after, like a process of created progress on
01:22 - 01:25
dhe, if we take a look, a TTE progress.
01:26 - 01:30
First of all, um, what that really means is, and
01:30 - 01:33
what we're looking for the planet to do is to
01:33 - 01:35
make sure we build up time working on the right
01:36 - 01:37
tasks in the right way.
01:38 - 01:39
Andi could look at that.
01:39 - 01:44
Officers of formula, whereby progress, the amount of progress we're
01:44 - 01:46
going to make is built up of the three elements.
01:47 - 01:50
So task first of all, are we pointing ourselves in
01:50 - 01:51
the right direction?
01:51 - 01:55
Are we working on Ah, high value task that's connected
01:56 - 01:58
to one of our big, long term, important goals?
01:59 - 02:03
Um, then time Are we building up time, actually moving
02:04 - 02:07
forwards, working on that task on dhe intensity?
02:08 - 02:09
Are we working in the right way?
02:10 - 02:13
So how far and how fast can we travel towards
02:14 - 02:16
that goal for the amount of time you put in
02:17 - 02:20
on this very elements that kind of assist with that
02:22 - 02:24
for task that you're looking at intention and having the
02:24 - 02:27
right information and insight of the time that we decide
02:28 - 02:30
what to work on for time?
02:30 - 02:30
It's consistency.
02:31 - 02:32
That's the big one there.
02:32 - 02:37
That's really like amassing time there today.
02:37 - 02:39
We have to eat month after month, so it's not
02:39 - 02:40
about like short term heroics.
02:41 - 02:42
It's about kind of being able to show up with
02:43 - 02:46
a process that doesn't require vast amounts of willpower or
02:46 - 02:47
difficulty. Eso.
02:48 - 02:50
We can kind of apply it consistently on an intensity
02:52 - 02:53
that's showing up with their energy.
02:54 - 02:58
It's physical energy, mental energy, emotional energy, showing up the
02:58 - 03:01
right equipment, the right pieces of kit, the right tools,
03:02 - 03:06
the right expertise are skill at the task and then
03:07 - 03:10
taking that potential intensity on making sure it's all focused
03:11 - 03:12
in on what we've chosen to dio.
03:13 - 03:18
So those are three elements of progress on dhe in
03:18 - 03:20
terms of a process that would help with that.
03:21 - 03:24
We need something that's going to create decision points in
03:24 - 03:24
our day.
03:25 - 03:27
Um, if we want to be working and like pointing
03:27 - 03:30
ourselves in the right direction, our chances of working on
03:31 - 03:35
high value tasks if we don't take moments, supports and
03:35 - 03:38
plan is quite low, and there's so many distractions and
03:38 - 03:43
notifications and temptations that we really need this kind of
03:44 - 03:47
the deliberate moment where we're going to choose what we
03:47 - 03:47
work on.
03:48 - 03:50
And then those moments of decision we want to make
03:50 - 03:51
sure we have the right information at hand.
03:52 - 03:55
Um, so the right data that's gonna help us choose
03:56 - 03:57
the right task.
03:58 - 04:01
Then we want Thio have a process encourages into action
04:02 - 04:03
so we don't get stuck in the planning stage.
04:03 - 04:05
We want to a process to encourage us to actually
04:05 - 04:06
move and planning to doing.
04:07 - 04:11
I start building at that time, and we want that
04:11 - 04:14
action time to be as effective as possible.
04:14 - 04:17
So all those kind of intensity elements, we want it
04:17 - 04:19
to be encouraging kind of good schools there on.
04:20 - 04:23
We wanted to allow us to review and improve that
04:23 - 04:25
process. So look back and see what worked and see
04:25 - 04:27
what perhaps wasn't as good as it could be.
04:28 - 04:30
Ah, nde improves that next time around.
04:31 - 04:32
That's what the plan is going to do for you.
04:32 - 04:36
So what we're gonna do is gonna fill in our
04:37 - 04:42
pdf. Um, now, if you'll remember, you've got a kind
04:42 - 04:44
of a greater variety and choice here of the templates
04:45 - 04:48
that you can you can use to tailor it.
04:48 - 04:49
Toto what?
04:49 - 04:49
We'll see you best.
04:50 - 04:52
But regardless of the template we're gonna be filling it
04:52 - 04:56
in with the data that we wanted Our point of
04:56 - 04:58
decision. So what do you want to see?
04:59 - 04:59
Toe help?
04:59 - 05:01
You make good decisions about what?
05:01 - 05:02
To work on it.
05:02 - 05:03
That's what we're looking for there.
05:03 - 05:06
So that would be reminding yourself off the most important
05:06 - 05:09
goals that you're working towards some of the intentions and
05:09 - 05:10
values you want to show up with.
05:10 - 05:13
Perhaps every day, Some of the next steps that you
05:14 - 05:16
want to remember that could be taken could be taken
05:17 - 05:18
in the next day or two next week or so.
05:19 - 05:22
I'm in some of the habits that sustain your energy.
05:23 - 05:27
Andi, help you show up effectively on dhe.
05:28 - 05:30
Some off the recent progress you've made.
05:30 - 05:32
I get to help that kind of emotional energy to
05:32 - 05:34
help us show up, and then you're gonna print that
05:34 - 05:37
out, have a physical, physical piece of paper on your
05:38 - 05:40
desk that's gonna remind you of the process you want
05:40 - 05:43
to follow on, Dorothy, information that matters most.
05:44 - 05:47
And you're going to prioritize into what matters most today.
05:48 - 05:51
And then you're gonna fold in your planner and really
05:51 - 05:55
focus in asking what's most important now on what you
05:55 - 05:57
going to be doing is you're gonna be completely kind
05:57 - 05:59
of deep work time blocks on that's gonna be defining
06:01 - 06:01
a period of time.
06:01 - 06:03
You're gonna work with a start to finish.
06:03 - 06:06
You're gonna be defining what you're gonna work on in
06:06 - 06:09
that time, and then you're going to defend that time
06:09 - 06:13
on your focus more the various internal and external distractions
06:14 - 06:14
that could get in the way.
06:15 - 06:18
Um, by doing so, you'll be drilling down from the
06:19 - 06:21
top level goals down to what matters most today.
06:21 - 06:25
Toe what matters most now on getting into effective action.
06:26 - 06:28
And then what you do is we have to kind
06:28 - 06:29
of review and improvement process.
06:30 - 06:31
You spiral up so we repeat the process.
06:32 - 06:35
So during the day after we had our intense work,
06:36 - 06:39
we then have a moment a few like minutes to
06:39 - 06:42
refresh and toe kind of recharge on.
06:42 - 06:43
Then we review again.
06:43 - 06:47
We ask what's most important now we complete another block
06:47 - 06:50
on. Repeat that 234 times during a day, and at
06:50 - 06:52
the end of the day, we look back and we'll
06:52 - 06:56
see what went well, what didn't and we update our
06:57 - 06:59
pdf planet with kind of the new steps.
07:00 - 07:01
You want to take all the new reminders of the
07:02 - 07:04
new process steps, and then we print it out and
07:04 - 07:05
we will repeat on.
07:06 - 07:08
We gradually spiral up now in terms of the practicalities
07:09 - 07:13
here, filling in the pdf recommend you open this up
07:14 - 07:14
in Adobe.
07:14 - 07:17
You just need the adobe reader So cancer.
07:17 - 07:18
It's a free free piece of software.
07:19 - 07:23
Andi, although you can fill it in elsewhere, did.
07:24 - 07:26
Everyone really does work well, so you'll fill it in
07:26 - 07:29
on. There's various hints and kind of tips on the
07:29 - 07:32
planners. A with the different templates Philippine.
07:33 - 07:35
Save it wherever you want.
07:35 - 07:37
Then you're going to print it out on my advice.
07:37 - 07:40
There is just fitted to page on little option button
07:41 - 07:41
shoes fit to page.
07:42 - 07:43
And it means that when you focus in Later and
07:43 - 07:46
folder page, it will kind of fold more neatly, um,
07:47 - 07:49
on the folding focus and the time blocks.
07:50 - 07:52
There's another video put together there to help you kind
07:52 - 07:55
of with those processes of defining and defending your time,
07:56 - 07:56
Um, on.
07:57 - 07:59
That's how the planner will kind of help you create
07:59 - 08:01
this daily process that will create progress.
08:02 - 08:05
