00:00 - 00:02
Hello. My name is Valentina to catch you and today
00:02 - 00:04
I'll be presenting my bedroom remodel project.
00:06 - 00:09
Our task for this project was to remodel our existing
00:09 - 00:10
room with a budget of $5000.
00:12 - 00:14
The current problems with our room were to be solved
00:15 - 00:21
and the overall room lay up to be improved current
00:21 - 00:22
bedroom problems.
00:23 - 00:24
In order to successful your model.
00:25 - 00:27
My room problems that I had with my current bedroom
00:27 - 00:27
had to be solved.
00:29 - 00:33
Some of those problems included Not enough light lacked unity.
00:34 - 00:36
Different furniture is too large and the space isn't used
00:36 - 00:37
to his full potential.
00:41 - 00:43
This is a photo of my current room that shows
00:43 - 00:46
the dark furniture the one window that I get light
00:46 - 00:52
from and also my mismatched furniture solutions.
00:53 - 00:56
The solutions to my current problems involved adding light fixtures,
00:57 - 00:59
bringing in some of my favorite colors like lavender and
00:59 - 01:02
sage and overall, making the room look more put together.
01:03 - 01:04
This is where my idea started.
01:05 - 01:07
I came with solutions and possible ways to convey them.
01:11 - 01:13
This photo shows the kind of style that I wanted
01:14 - 01:19
to go for rough stages.
01:20 - 01:22
Since the research aspect is so important in any project,
01:23 - 01:25
I spent some extra time looking for inspiration and ideas.
01:26 - 01:29
After gathering my own ideas mixed with other ideas for
01:29 - 01:32
my research, I created a rough sketch, which included measurements
01:33 - 01:34
for my current room.
01:35 - 01:37
It took all of the measurements with a tape measure
01:37 - 01:38
and then added them onto the drawing.
01:42 - 01:48
This is a photo of my rough sketch scale drawing.
01:49 - 01:51
The next step was to take the rough sketch and
01:51 - 01:52
turn it into a more accurate scale.
01:53 - 01:56
Drawing This drawing includes more details than the rough sketch
01:57 - 01:58
and allows a more riel aspect.
02:01 - 02:03
This is a photo of my skill drawing, which we
02:03 - 02:09
do. One quarter inch equals 1 ft auto cat.
02:10 - 02:12
Once the scale drawing was complete, it was time to
02:12 - 02:13
draw it up in Auto cab.
02:15 - 02:17
The AutoCAD allows a drawing to be even more accurate
02:17 - 02:18
since is not done by hand.
02:19 - 02:22
All measurements are included as well as supporting text.
02:25 - 02:30
This is a drawing of my auto cat, my new
02:30 - 02:33
design. The new design was sketched out, and I began
02:33 - 02:35
to look furniture and style inspiration.
02:37 - 02:38
Then I added furniture to figure out the layout.
02:42 - 02:44
This is a picture of my final layout.
02:48 - 02:51
Schedule the sketch up was my favorite part of the
02:51 - 02:53
project because I really got to see what my room
02:53 - 02:53
would look like.
02:55 - 02:57
All of my ideas were brought together, and I could
02:57 - 02:58
start to see what it would look like.
02:59 - 03:01
As I was creating my sketch up, I made sure
03:02 - 03:04
that I was conscious of my $5000 budget.
03:05 - 03:21
Here are some photos of my completed design overall Look,
03:22 - 03:24
the overall look is exactly what I was going for.
03:31 - 03:32
My $5000 budget.
03:33 - 03:36
My $5000 budget was challenging because I had too much
03:37 - 03:39
money. I didn't need a lot to do what I
03:39 - 03:41
wanted, but I ended up making it work.
03:42 - 03:44
I made sure to buy all the furniture and necessities
03:45 - 03:47
first and then buy whatever I desired.
03:48 - 03:50
The total without tax came to $4890.44.
03:54 - 03:54
With tax.
03:55 - 03:58
It came to $5526 in 19 cents.
03:59 - 04:01
Here is what I ended up spending my money on
04:09 - 04:11
features of my new room design.
04:11 - 04:14
I wanted to include some features in my room which
04:14 - 04:15
could really help to renovate the space.
04:17 - 04:19
I included a new record player to play my records,
04:20 - 04:23
MacBook pros that I could work more efficiently, plans to
04:23 - 04:25
cleanse the air and a TV station where I could
04:26 - 04:32
keep my fish tank difficulties I had while doing this
04:32 - 04:35
project. Throughout this process, I did have a few challenges,
04:35 - 04:37
but I overcame them and it was really worth it.
04:38 - 04:40
One of my challenges was finding a layout that worked
04:41 - 04:42
well with the space I had.
04:43 - 04:45
I tried many different layouts, and the one that I
04:45 - 04:46
ended up choosing work the best.
04:47 - 04:48
Another challenge I had was the budget.
04:49 - 04:52
Even though we had $5000 I had trouble trying to
04:52 - 04:54
reach that budget I would always be under.
04:55 - 04:57
I decided to try and up my budget by adding
04:57 - 04:58
a new computer, and it worked.
05:03 - 05:05
This project was really fun, and I enjoyed it a
05:05 - 05:08
lot. It helped me to further my problem solving skills
05:08 - 05:10
and also to experience more interior design.
05:12 - 05:14
The process of creating this room was challenging, but I
05:14 - 05:15
ended up loving the results.
05:17 - 05:19
I got fixed full or more of my style and
05:19 - 05:21
what design elements I like.
05:23 - 05:24
