00:00 - 00:02
Hello. Good morning.
00:02 - 00:06
My name is Andrea Saldivar and today I will be talking about for your on board books
00:08 - 00:12
personally I didn't think that there existed in Children's
00:12 - 00:16
board books because I thought Children board books were
00:16 - 00:19
all about fun and happiness and teaching kids how
00:19 - 00:22
to read how to count how to identify animals.
00:23 - 00:25
But as we went further into this course I realized
00:26 - 00:29
that we're in board books is an actual real thing
00:29 - 00:30
and that
00:30 - 00:32
it actually helps Children
00:32 - 00:34
develop and
00:35 - 00:38
teach them how to overcome their fears.
00:40 - 00:44
A really good example of this in my opinion is llama llama, red pajama.
00:45 - 00:48
And to sum it up it's about a baby llama who
00:48 - 00:51
grows terrified of being alone and being in the dark.
00:52 - 01:00
And it then shows the mama llama coming to the rescue by reassuring the baby llama and
01:00 - 01:04
by building that relationship and building that safe and
01:04 - 01:08
comfortable sleeping environment that the baby llama needs for
01:09 - 01:10
a peaceful sleep.
01:11 - 01:12
Mhm.
01:13 - 01:16
So in the side you can see the mama llama
01:16 - 01:19
screaming at the baby llama for making all that noise.
01:20 - 01:21
And then
01:22 - 01:24
it shows the mama llama
01:25 - 01:28
reassuring the baby mama by saying that she will always be
01:28 - 01:31
there even though she may not be in the same room.
01:31 - 01:34
And then it shows the mama llama.
01:34 - 01:38
Building that relationship with building that trust with the
01:38 - 01:42
baby llama by giving the baby llama kiss.
01:43 - 01:45
And this really helps in
01:46 - 01:47
not only
01:48 - 01:48
teaching
01:49 - 01:51
kids that it's okay to
01:51 - 01:55
sleep in the dark and sleeping alone but it also helps parents in
01:56 - 01:57
showing them how
01:59 - 01:59
or
02:00 - 02:04
pretty much shows them another way of parenting and teaches them
02:05 - 02:05
what
02:06 - 02:09
this type of parenting looks like. And
02:09 - 02:11
it may help a parent
02:11 - 02:12
in
02:13 - 02:15
teaching kids how to
02:15 - 02:16
sleep alone.
02:16 - 02:17
Mhm.
02:17 - 02:17
Mhm.
02:20 - 02:24
I also want to mention that illustrations play a big part in
02:25 - 02:27
teaching kids how to
02:27 - 02:29
overcome their fears because as you can see here
02:30 - 02:36
here, you can see the baby llama peacefully sleep and
02:36 - 02:37
Children tend to copy
02:38 - 02:39
what they see.
02:39 - 02:40
So
02:41 - 02:44
This illustration may help one kid
02:44 - 02:47
and seeing how easy it is to overcome their fears
02:47 - 02:48
and can
02:49 - 02:50
possibly hopefully
02:51 - 02:53
make them follow
02:53 - 02:56
the character's footsteps and can help
02:56 - 02:58
the Children
02:58 - 03:00
overcome their fears.
03:00 - 03:05
So not only is judging books, helpful for the kids,
03:05 - 03:10
but it's also helpful for the parents and building that type of relationship and
03:10 - 03:15
building that trust and building that safe environment for their Children as well.
03:16 - 03:18
And that's all I've learned
03:18 - 03:20
in this course
03:20 - 03:21
and
03:21 - 03:23
I don't know how to end this,
03:23 - 03:25
but subscribe to my Youtube channel and I'm just kidding.
03:25 - 03:27
But um
03:28 - 03:29
yeah, that's all I have for you
