00:01 - 00:06
Hi. My name is Stephanie Edmonson in my presentation is
00:07 - 00:10
on. What does the future hold for the health care
00:10 - 00:10
in Pakistan?
00:20 - 00:20
A little bit of background.
00:21 - 00:25
Thousands of Children lack access to life saving immunizations because
00:26 - 00:26
of poverty.
00:27 - 00:31
With as many as 170,000 doctors from Pakistan working abroad
00:32 - 00:35
or for private facilities, there is lack of health care
00:35 - 00:36
options for the poor.
00:37 - 00:40
Pakistan offers no incentives for doctors to stay.
00:53 - 00:56
Many of the deaths that happened in Pakistan are from
00:56 - 01:02
unsanitary conditions, Um, diarrhea, being one of them, that we
01:02 - 01:07
have easy access to things like Pepto Bismol, but that
01:08 - 01:11
they have no idea what that is or even how
01:11 - 01:12
to treat it.
01:13 - 01:17
Um, the diarrhea is also caused by, of course, unsanitary
01:17 - 01:19
conditions in Pakistan.
01:20 - 01:23
To survive, they need access to clean water and sanitation.
01:28 - 01:29
Health care reform.
01:31 - 01:36
Health care reform means to put or change into something
01:37 - 01:41
else. Modern technology has improved and will continue to improve
01:41 - 01:43
the lives of people all over the world.
01:43 - 01:48
Even in Pakistan, that has more than 70% of population
01:49 - 01:50
living below poverty level.
01:51 - 01:53
Of course, everyone has a cell phone.
01:54 - 01:57
Um, even in Pakistan, because of this new technology.
01:58 - 02:03
Telemedicine, which everyone has gotten familiar with during Covid, is
02:03 - 02:12
growing. See Hat K R E may not mean anything
02:12 - 02:15
to us, but to the people of Pakistan, it can
02:15 - 02:19
mean the difference between life and death in 2017, Doctor
02:19 - 02:24
so far and Kirra um, created along with Microsoft and
02:24 - 02:30
many supporters, a new telehealth, telemedicine software and facility sits.
02:31 - 02:39
It's deception they have, um, they have 1500 registered female
02:39 - 02:44
doctors and 100 community staff employed at about 25 health
02:45 - 02:46
clinics across the country.
02:48 - 02:53
This gives women and Children the population safely and securely
02:53 - 02:56
because no men are involved in their care.
02:58 - 03:11
It also does not feel were third traditions, um, see
03:12 - 03:17
hot can our can Kaha Lani has changed the way
03:17 - 03:19
Pakistan look at health care.
03:20 - 03:23
Because of their efforts, even the poorest of Pakistanis can
03:24 - 03:25
receive health care.
03:26 - 03:29
If you would like more information on this, you can
03:29 - 03:34
go to either you can email them or you can
03:34 - 03:37
use this link in your browser and be able to
03:37 - 03:38
look up and read the story.
03:39 - 03:41
It's got some very good information on there.
03:47 - 03:48
The front, my final thoughts.
03:49 - 03:53
Um, healthcare is changing all the time and many diseases
03:53 - 03:54
have been cured.
03:54 - 03:58
However, with covid happening, it's sad to say how many
03:58 - 04:02
people die because of not having proper necessities during this
04:02 - 04:05
time. Now, add to that lack of clean water and
04:06 - 04:10
sanitation. Many non profits go into Pakistan when there's a
04:10 - 04:15
crisis. However, all of these doctors are volunteers and they
04:15 - 04:17
try to help in any way they can.
04:18 - 04:18
With a new system.
04:19 - 04:23
Pakistan may just have a fighting chance to help their
04:23 - 04:27
people become healthier and have a happier future.
04:33 - 04:33
These are my were excited.
04:35 - 04:35
Thank you for watching.
